I don’t think anyone can argue against UConn being a new blue blood. They have certainly overtaken Kentucky, UNC and Kansas. Duke is hanging with them at least some. Sad state of affairs for the old blue bloods.

I mean if they win a championship then they will be tied with UNC for the third most. Also why is Kentucky still considered a blue blood if they’ve only won 1 championships since 1998?
Because it's not just about titles. The traditional five blue bloods are UK, KU, Duke, UNC, and UCLA. Those five are all top five in both all time wins and winning percentage. UConn is like 20th and 12th respectively. They just don't have the total body of work to be a blue blood.

You’ll get blasted for suggesting such when it comes to any mention of bluebloods, but a presumed 6th title in 25 years is unbelievable in today’s game. This isn’t the 60s or 70s where you had Wooden rattling them off. To do it with multiple coaches including Kevin Ollie, they’re lightyears beyond us in the 2000s. Not even a discussion.

Edited to add: I get that they’ve had some easy runs, but you can only play the schedule presented to you. That’s the point of a tournament. We’ve had many brackets break in our favor and haven’t capitalized.

If anybody was dumb enough to think you were a UK fan, this thread should clear it up.
Because you can’t handle the facts? I’ve been a Kentucky fan my entire life. But when why does every other blue blood besides UCLA actually win when it matters? Yes Kentucky went on the historic run with Cal but the last 5 seasons have been a major disappointment to this program

Nobody with a brain is buying your attempts to shred the program with literally every single thread. What rival fan spends their time doing this? Just pathetic.

How long before UCONN catches/passes us in national titles?
At this rate, about two years.

Look at there path to a title this year. It’s freaking laughable.
Some people used to say that about UK when CM Newton was sitting in the big chair. I don't know if Mitch had single thing to do with it, but our path wasn't exactly bad this year. It just turns out we have a **** for brains coach.

Honestly I don’t know why some people are upset about this post? You act like Kentucky is the only team we can talk about. I love Kentucky but UCONN has been a lot better than this program since 1999 and they have 5 championships to prove that and potentially another. Kentucky was better than UCONN before the 2000’s and I’m not arguing that.

This is the FIRST year in program history they’ve been the number 1 overall seed. Lmao blueblood? I mean, I reckon. 🙄
so what you’re saying is UCONN has won 5 titles without being the top seed? Seems like a blue blood to me

We know. We were all here for it. Do you think we all forgot?
