Uconn is in free fall after being undefeated and ranked in the top five schools.

Neither is Ohio State, but I did not see you calling them over rated.
Huh? I haven't said anything about Ohio State. Ohio State is overrated too, not sure why it's a comp.

Nobody has dropped off as much as Uconn, they had about a 2 week stretch in Nov/early Dec where they beat Oregon, Alabama, Iowa State, Oklahoma State and Florida that was impressive and had them looking like one of the top teams in the country. Chemistry was great everyone was happy.

They are a different team now. Christmas break is rough on chemistry, campus is mostly empty, guys spend a ton of time together and with coaches and not much with anyone else.

All those transfers that were used to getting big minutes last year are not happy with their minutes/shots. Hurley is calling them out in the press. The BE player of the year makes them worse when he's on the floor and Hawkins plays like he's trying out for an NBA team, not trying to win college games.

The theme of the thread on the Uconn board about Hurley missing last night's game with COVID was pretty much "good" and got locked.

It’s a great rivalry as the players are very familiar with each other. Battle of NJ.
Not so much for me anymore
It used to bother me when we lost to the Hall
All losses sting, but this one no longer a worse sting

If I could reverse a loss, I would rather have the first game OSU as a win, rather than the Hall game

It used to be the other way around
So that tells you something

This is actually a very interesting question. Which of our losses would I most want to flip?

Ohio State, because we were robbed, Q1 road win, and in conference, aka we'd be in first place with the tiebreaker.
Seton Hall, our house and the in-state rival.
Iowa, B1G standings competition plus Fran.
Miami, another Q1 road win (okay, not this one, although the way we let it get away was disappointing)
Temple, so we would not have any "bad losses" at all on the schedule. (*Assumes we do not lose to Minnesota)

Big picture, I'd say either Iowa or Ohio State, and I'm not even sure I would want to flip SHU over Temple.

For me it has to be the OSU game because we deserved it anyway

I just tip my hat to Iowa, they had a game plan and executed against us
They deserved to win

RU beat OSU in Columbus. The conference admitted it.

The SHU loss at home was inexcusable

id flip the Temple loss so our resume is completely clean. In reality the Ohio State or Miami loss on the road is probably worth more but clean resumes are highly valued.

I’d take the OSU one - q1 road, in conference AND we were robbed

Sure the SHU loss sucked but the OSU loss has much more significance IMhO

This is funny, I started to feel this way this year. There used to be no team I wanted to beat more. I was so mad when they ducked us during COVID. Now, I actually would be fine if this game wasn’t renewed, not calling for it, but wouldn’t be too upset. Indiana a bigger rival now

Very mediocre?

The KenPom top 3 leagues this season are

1-Big 12
2-Big 10
3-Big East
Big East is pretty good. Villanova having the extremely rare bad year and GT being downright awful is the only thing holding the league from being ranked higher.

I think Hurley is a great recruiter and his teams have usually played great D. But not sure at all he is a great game day x and o’s coach and guessing his personality starts to grate on team. Again point to the first round flame outs/blow outs in the NCAA tourney the last two years. Starting earlier this year?

Still love beating SHU. Fans still care. Hard ticket to get and passion is still high even though some down play it because it’s not a league game. Attribute that loss to OSU though.

Also think it is frankly ridiculous we don’t play Princeton.

The amount of interest in Princeton is way down
It would be mildly interesting, where before it was a game you circled on the calendar

Of all the non conference games you can play…. I think seeing RU v Princeton on the scroll is fun. Tradition and history. At this point we shouldn’t be afraid anymore and different pace of game is good tourney prep.

The Temple game was early on and played without 2 starters

How piss poor is the Big East these days? I mean, come on now! That league has literally fallen off a cliff into a weak *** conference. Becoming less and less relevant every year!

Reversing at OSU would have more importance. We’d be 6-1 in league.

Our shoe game was hangover from OSU stolen.

We should be 15-3, 6-1.

But shoe stole last night. UConn lost game, not having HC adds asterisk.

Laughable after beating BE dregs last week and stealing vs overrated and soft UConn they think of NCAAs. It’s cute.

I’ve been saying that UConn is the 2nd most overrated team in the country behind only Indiana. They started too high in the rankings so it takes a lot to knock them out of the top 25. Meanwhile we were underrated and it took winning 7 of 8 to get ranked and if we lose tomorrow you can be sure we’ll be dropped.
Uhh... UConn started unranked. They may not be the same team now that they were earlier in the year, but that lofty ranking they reached was very much earned, not given.

Clearly reversing Ohio State should be priority number 1. We would be in first place , 6-1/ 14-4 and everyone would know we are the only team that beat Purdue and on their home court which would be hammered everyday once a sportswriter checked on our team. They would also discover the Temple game was played without our starting senior guards and Miami was played without Paul. The national media would be thinking the team really could be 16-2 with 4 Quad 1 wins that could been 5. Probably the best on the Country.
