I read in this mornings LHL that this was Welch's 5th time vs UK. How in a 4 year career?

They played twice last year.

Once in Rupp
Once in LA
Twice in the champions classic if he was on the team that UK blitzed a few years ago
Last year in the Sweet 16

He is the slowest guy on the court and we have never been able to guard him, he is smart and a good shooter and able passer and our All Americans can't do anything with him. They know what he's going to do and he still does it,hmm.

So sick of that guy. Awkward yet seems to own us.
Our players refuse to guard him. It's as if they are instinctively programmed to believe he will never again hit another shot. Just imagine if we had a really good 7 foot shooter like that, and how greatly we would be laughing at a team that time and time again would not be on him like white on rice. We would be like . . . Hahahahahaha!!!

I never watch ucla games, but for anyone who does, are we the only team that refuses to guard the kid?

An Academic All American Economics major from UCLA...he might not be in the NBA next year but I kind of doubt he will be delivering your pizza either.
That kid will never play basketball for under 6 figures will probably even get a decent shot at the NBA pick and pop bigs who can shoot and pass are hot in the NBA. He was and decent ranked 4star around 50 in hs. This UCLA team had two five stars 3 4 stars with multiple years experience. The big man, Hand, Holiday, Ali, Wilkes have all been seen on first and second round mock drafts. UCLA is a talented team who has underperformed this season due mostly to the Ball bs and player suspensions. They are far from a bad team.

Kid is good and has had more success against us than so many more talented guys.
Another Luke Maye storybook tale.

If Zeller can play in the league, so can Welsh.

Their guards being good sure didn’t hurt their strategy either.

I think you mean the CBS sports classic. Champions Classic is UK, Duke, KU, and MSU.

If you have watched when he play's against Kentucky, yes he has owned them for sure.
If you watched him play against anyone else, he’s “owned” “us” (typically how UK fans refer to the team) to the same or lesser extent as the other teams he’s played against on average.
