The NBA is boring because of the amount of 3 point shots taken. Plain and simple. In the NBA, defense is not a priority. It can't be when some guys shoot over 40% near halfcourt. That makes the game boring and monotonous to watch.

Bring back hand checking, remove the corner 3 and move back the 3 pt line so only the best can make it at a decent clip.
In the '90s, everybody complained that the game was too physical and there wasn't enough scoring because nobody could shoot. Now everybody's complaining that everybody can shoot too well and that the game is not physical enough. When the ABA emerged in the 70s, the complaints were the same as they are now; too many 3s, too much scoring, and too little defense. There's no pleasing some people.

You just proved my point, there should be a happy medium. Right now it is skewed too far to the importance of the 3 point shot. When most of the league can knock down 3's at a high clip and analytics show that the way to win is to take as many 3's as possible then you get a game with no diversity. Kind of like baseball with the analytics and the launch angle swing.

You may like this NBA but there are plenty of people who don't.
