All that effort and Gonzaga is still ahead at the half. Can UCLA keep up?

Testament to how great Gonzaga is this year. Seemed like UCLA played to their full potential there. Hit a lot of tough shots that shouldn’t continue to fall in the second half. Zags just played okay. Yet they’re winning.

Zags will probably win but that was a great first half - especially with the first game being so lopsided.

Huh? Gonzaga shot 56% to UCLAs 53%.

It was a great game!!! Well played by both teams. Probably as well officiated as I’ve ever seen. The call at the end of regulation was a great call on the charge. I hated that one team had to lose, especially on a luck shot.

Honest question - do you see Nebraska ever playing a complete game on both ends and having the quality depth either of these teams, shoot, throw in any of the final eight teams?

Depth didn't really have much to do with last night's game, as the starters logged a huge number of minutes. That's probably one of the reasons we all enjoyed it so much - because Cronin and Few don't think their best players are going to drop dead unless they yank them out of the game for no apparent reason.

Cronin only played 7-8 guys off the bench mostly because they lost 2 players to start the season so they were short handed on the bench..

Would have liked to seen another OT but glad we have the game everyone wanted when the tournament started with Baylor taking on the Gags..

I realize that, but Cronin wasn't timid about riding his starters even before the roster thinned. When UCLA beat Pepperdine in triple OT at the beginning of the season, Jaquez played all 55 minutes and Chris Smith and Tyger Campbell both played 50+. Coaches who are addicted to the "extended media timeout" routine must have gasped in horror.

Cronin should be coach of the year over Howard getting his team to almost play for the national title..

PAC 12 was under seeded...anyway great fricking game holy smokes! UCLA got hot in tournament. They had lost 4 in a row going in and almost missed out.

Quality depth?

UCLA Bench had 6 points. Gonzaga bench had 4.
Hopefully some of the coaches who chisel their rotation into a stone tablet in November were watching.

Gosh, you mean 20 year-olds can play a whole basketball game that's already littered with media timeouts? I'll be damned!

I liked where the announcers were surprised timme was staying in the game with 4 fouls and 4.5 min left.

THAt one was great.... but this was greater, imho... by a smidge...

IDK. I still feel like Marcus Paige got robbed of his moment. He hit a HUGE three pointer right before Nova hit theirs.

This one was definitely up there though, only difference is UNC/NOVA was for a title.

Honorable mention to Gordon Haywood, owner of best NCAA shot to not go in. Would have been so timeless for so many reasons.
