UCF didnt come out of nowhere. They have been perhaps the most attractive option for G5 kids and lower level P5 kids for a long time, especially since they built their on campus stadium. They can consistantly out recruit their peers which is how they keep winning games.

The next time the NCAA is sniffing around an elite...UCF will be the perfect fodder. Just saying...Teams that just come out of no where to the level they are at usually have some skeletons lying around.

A quick look and their recruiting rankings have been around 50-70ish since 2010.
Highest was 39 one year.
2019 was #55.

They hire actual offensive coaches who know how to inplement their schemes and coach up their players.

Foreign concept around Rutgers but not against the rules.

See the many years of Rutgers being unable to compete with Cincinnati.

I don't think they're going anywhere and will eventually end up in the Big 12 imo, fertile recruiting grounds and great job of hiring head coaches while playing in the AAC....

So when OU and the castrated steers leave the big 12, they’d be pretty much in the same spot they’re in now!

they are already had talent when frost got to ucf. they were 0-12 the season before but that was because several players had a problem with the coach causing a team to quit on the coach. the 3 seasons before they went 0-12 they won 31 games. Frost should get credit for turning them around but he took over a program with the most talent in aac.

They haven't reached Boise State level quite yet, have they?

They didn't come out of nowhere. The team quit on George O'Leary in 2015 though. His first year at UCF was 0-11 in 2004 and his last year was 0-12 in 2015. Had O'Leary started at UCF about five years earlier, the Big East may have offered them over USF.

HaHa no they havent. But no matter how I look at it...They had a couple of good years pretty much on the shoulders of an NFL QB. Then dropped to 0-12 and just 2 years later they start a run of 25-1
Sorry if it smells like something

While true...most of those years- their schedule was even weaker then it is now. And if you look at the teams they put out there now- they may not last a full season in a conference like the B1G but on any given day, they could beat anyone.

  • Location, location, location
  • Hired Oregon assistant, who played at Nebraska
  • Then, hired Missouri assistant, who played at Oklahoma
What are you trying to say?

Might smell fishy, but given Nick's post, maybe that's some fresh Mahi?

That formula would work in a lot of places.

But for us I’d settle for the Saturday guy(s) than just the one who says “Rutgers” on Monday Night Football.

Wow, what a bizarre record. I can’t imagine what this board would be like if we went 12-1, two years later we were 0-12, and then two years after we were 13-0.

I remembered the recent winless to undefeated story, but damn. It’s like deja vu all over again.

That's the smell of Success! I could see why you aren't familiar with it around here.
