The amount of parity now in college football is both awesome and sad...no more player development (unless you think of the G5 schools as our farm league), just court a wealthy donor to underwrite your payroll, buy who you need out of the portal for a year and Frankenstein a "team" together and hope you don't get it wrong twice because two years is the new four years. And you'd better have a damned good QB who avoids injury. The talent is well spread out now. Lose your QB and look out. OSU is starting an untested true frosh who is 5'10".

And don't swing and miss. *ichigan is paying Underwood 3M to sit on the bench. PSU guessed wrong on Becht. NU guessed right on Chiles.

Don’t think we “guessed right” with Chiles. I think we developed him into a star. That is why I feel so good about our current coaching staff.

That's true. He was hand picked by Kelly. I guess I'm used to the crap shoot of the previous 7 years. New transfer QB - any good? We had 2 good, 4 terrible, 1 meh, and now Chiles.

So UCF constructed a roster to hand BYU their only loss but got stomped into the ground by Baylor? Who exactly constructed the best roster here?

Not necessarily just that we guessed right on him, More that our staff was able to get him out of making the mistakes (turnovers) that have haunted him in the past
