The way it is set up is that UCF is in FBS. If they go undefeated they should have a shot. That's my take.

But SOS has to count, otherwise why wouldn't Nebraska just schedule FCS opponents and pad the W column?

So there is a problem here.

I feel the best solution is for the Autonomous 5 to break off and form a separate division or even call it a league. Then everybody gets a fair shot at a NC..... In their respective divisions.

Sounds too exclusive? Well 60+ teams is enough, and 120+ teams really is flippin beyond stupid ridiculous. IMO...

UCF’s SOS is weak. There’s no doubt about it. Not much they can do about it. As far a the Memphis game. Meh. It was a nice second half comeback in the rain. They pitched a second half shutout. You’re not always going to blowout conference rivals at their house.

They will probably be ranked about 12-16 tomorrow.

Still plenty of football left for them and for us

The best games start this week!

What awesome, superior factors did Rutgers and Maryland have to get selected by the Big 10? It wasn't full stadiums or rabid fanbases. They, respectively, had approximately 40k and 30k at their last home games. They didn'the have much different attendance prior to being selected. The only thing they had was the good ole boy network from being around for the last 100 years. Even if their stadiums were completely full, they respectively hold 52k and 52k. Remember, our stadium was built in 2007 (44k), not 1957 or whatever year theirs were built in and then later expanded. We can expand our stadium to ~65k. So a difference in stadium size of 8k seats made their program at such a different level? What obvious advantages do they have that we don't? Is it the 1 conference co-championship Rutgers has had in well over 100 years? Or is it Maryland's 1 conference championship since 1985?

Everybody keeps saying why don't we just join a P5 conference? Last time I checked nobody is accepting new members, so there is nothing we can do but keep collecting hardware as we are, and growing our brand. The #1 reason people don't want us in their conference is simple math....the pot of money everyone is currently making would be split amongst more programs, which means less money for each member. It has nothing to do with our athletics.

C'mon, man. Do a little research and stop arguing with your heart. This was literally a 5-second search on Google.

And yes, we know that people in NY and DC don't actually watch Rutgers and Maryland with any regularity. But they don't have to for the B1G to cash in. In the case of Rutgers, Delany was able to get BTN bundled with the YES Network.

That means that, if you live in NY and want to watch the Yankees on YES, you also have to subscribe to BTN. That's a metric ****-ton of TV sets all paying for BTN whether they tune in or not. And that's a big pile of money in the pockets of each school.

In addition to the major location advantages, both schools also have far superior academics, which still matters bigly to the B1G. Not that anyone was excited about adding them for competitive reasons, but not every school has to bring that side in order to offer value.

So please, let's cut out this nonsense about stadium sizes and wondering why in the world the B1G invited them. In the case of these two Top 10 market cash cows, Delany knew exactly what he was getting.
