Correct although Perentin is wrestling for Italy he is from NJ , is also an 3xNJ state champ, jr national champ, and has wrestled James for years including as a team mate @delbarton and beaten him. He’s headed to Cornell next year.
He's at Cornell now and will be 165 this year

Bassett wins 8-2 over Japanese wrestler and takes Gold.
Burton and Mastny both won their bronze medal matches. Burton got thrown for 4, stopped another exposure attempt by reversing. Won easily from that point 10 to 4. He was the better wrestler. Mastny got a last second takedown from an exhausted opponent and won 3 to 2.

Robideau did not take a shot the 1st period and his hand fighting and pace was not high gear. In the 2nd period he did take a couple of shots but did not seem committed before his opponent got the winning takedown. Landon really got caught on that takedown with not strong hands on the guy and way to late reaction. He just got caught. Ross won a tough match but he got the takedown in the 2nd 3 minutes to put the match away 4 to 1. His opponent must have been strong and obviously big because Dreshaun was not aggressive but he was obviously the better wrestler. His opponent was never close to a takedown. How highly ranked was the Iranian who beat Landon? I just checked if Flow had ratings and Khalil was picked by them for Gold and he has been a 17 and under Gold medalist and last year won a silver in 23 and under. He has also beat some good seniors.

He’s beat James Green before I think. Highly accomplished.

Yes . He was Bronze at Asians SR event he lost to Ochir there. He was Bronze at Asians last year as well and beat Ochir and lost to Rassadin. He's ranked #11 in the world and ranked ahead of Ridge Lovett

Yoshida dec. James 13-12 with last second takedown. James who usually controls with his underhook was out-underhooked. Very close match but James gave up the last two takedowns.

Ross loses 5-3 despite a last second takedown and an attempt at a leg lace. The Iranian scrambled out of 4 0r 5 takedown attempts by Ross and converted one for a takedown of his own. He was strong and very quick. Good job by Ross to stay in the match to the end.

Damn good showing from the U20 team. Thought Robideau showed he’s continuing to build on the momentum from his freshman year, and Ross is still an absolute physical freak.

Dreshaun is figuring it out and isn’t alone in this regard but definitely tightens up against top end competition. He showed he could consistently get to the Iranians legs but stood up w him instead of firing shots. Maybe he recognized his cardio was waning but much like his first bout in the Open w Merrill when he figured out he could get to his legs, the next two matches were wrestled different. The only difference though, being his confidence. I think Ross takes the next matchup if he ever faces the Iranian again. All my nitpicking aside, if he jumps a level in the next year, I’d be curious if he doesn’t challenge Wyatt et all for LA28.

Yes Ross was in on legs twice and got driven back with the first Ross goes out of bounds to give up 1 and then on the legs and got overpowered and gave up a takedown. Dreshaun needs a little more size and strength to beat the best in the World. Robideau toughed out the win with 2 pushouts, and 1 passivity point. A bronze and a silver is good and we were very close to 2 golds. James lost to the Japanese wrestler who would get in a bear hug situation and could overpower and circle around James. Boyle broke the Russian, maybe the Russian head an arm injury but I think he was gassed. Boyle was quicker and at least as strong as the Russian. A great Tournament for the United States with every wrestler medaling.
