It’s easy to believe that he has a strong mental approach to the game. You can tell, even in his highlight vids, that he has next level court vision & an advanced feel for the game. He sees plays developing & does a great job anticipating where to go with the ball & where his teammates are on the floor. He seems to play under control & always one step ahead of the defense. And, it’s nice to have a good shooting PG again. It makes things so much easier for the defense when they don’t have to respect PGs on the perimeter. This team is gonna be a handful for defenses to contain, IMO.

I've got a feeling that Washington is going to be the real deal for us. Don't see him in the mold of the freshman that so many were disappointed in last year. Plus, he will have lots of solid experienced players surrounding him. Is it OK for me to start getting excited for the upcoming season?

Great news! I’ve waited on 9:00 all day.
For a frustrated fan base, this is great news. We have become accustomed to signing top players, the five star variety. This isn't always a given. Don't ever take these commitments for granted. For the 40 and older crowd, the expectations are always there, but the recruits weren't. I will never forget when signed Patrick Patterson.

For the longest time, UK was "in a drought", not being able to sign 5 star guy. I get it, not all 5 stars are the same. Sometimes it depends on the class. I (and probably most) just want a March where we can be excited and be in the mix to make major noise in the tournament. I'm glad for this young man and this fan base that he chose Kentucky.

Cal says he is a combo guard so I would say that he may be playing off guard while another PG say Wheeler is running point in certain lineups. He does need a backup at PG.
Cal does a lot of that talk to help a player have that NBA appeal by having the ability to play multiple positions. With some players, you just have to wait to see how they fit in the rotation and much of that has to do with adjustments from HS to D1.

Jeff Borzello (@jeffborzello) Tweeted:
Five-star point guard TyTy Washington has committed to Kentucky.

"There is a big challenge at Kentucky for playing time and a leadership role. I always liked a challenge."

Washington is the 12th five-star point guard to commit to Kentucky since John Calipari took over in 2009.

I'm glad we have TyTy aboard. Now that we finally have someone on the roster capable of high level PG play, the ceiling for next season is looking much higher. As things stand, it appears we will have a good team. Add Wheeler and get back some or all of Mintz, Brooks and Jackson and we will be a really good team. If we are somehow lucky enough to also get Hardy (I think we probably have a 50/50 shot), then suddenly we have a chance to be a phenomenally good team, especially in the context of the 2021-2022 college basketball scene.

6'-9" wingspan. Great measurable for pro day. Kobe Bryant clone. We're winning it all in 2022 no doubt.

Yay, i'm gonna say I like the pieces better this year than last, even though I bought into the 2020 pre-season hype that we had two 6'7"top-ten superstars who were gonna walk on water. I much prefer a 6'9" 250pound experienced bruiser down low, and two proven high scoring off guard sure shots, and now a three point threat pg, sprinkle in Collins and maybe Brooks. Nobody can sag off our perimeter guys no more, I bet we raise our points per game average by ten points easy.
