Anyone know anything about this?

6. An interesting update on former Minnesota verbal commit and now-2019 cornerback Tyrik Henderson:

The congratulations does seem a bit premature, considering Henderson hasn't tweeted that he's committed or even, for that matter, that Nebraska has offered him a scholarship. Nor has anybody on the coaching staff indicated that NU has a new commit via the normal Twitter celebrating.

Just seemed an odd way to mention him in an article about recruiting? I thought maybe something happened during his visit. As for that video, guess you could call him the strangler.

I know nothing of the guy, but I did see the fallout on the internet from this video. I would be surprised to see him play anywhere of marquee. The information, from people who were at the camp, is he was beat on several plays prior to this and responded with these actions. There was some discussion about this also, it is not a coach who comes in and low fives him it is another player.

Bookie pretty much did the same thing last year and people hailed him a hero.

On a side note, BTN has the replay of NU PSU game...what a dumpster fire Riley and Diaco were.

Why does that video say it has 3.36M views, is that serious? Eek
It was kind of a big deal yesterday. Not only were people watching it from the standpoint of this kid "committed assault" on the football field, the sports writer or whatever his title is with 10/11 was getting crushed for borderline promoting it. There has been a fair amount of attention brought on to these 7v7 and showcases as this behavior is often rewarded. I believe the current term the coaches are using to encourage this behavior is "being a dog". There is also a video of a DB slapping the helmet off a WR, that has been discussed.

Serious...

I don't there will be a holding call, hands to the face? Maybe? But I don't think so. I really don't know what they would call...
I am not a football coach, but I would say that if it were legal and good technique, then we would see it happening all of the time. In my opinion, even though he's within five yards, it would be defensive holding (tackling without the ball) and throwing him down like he did could certainly earn him a personal foul.

He had his hand around the dude's throat almost like a choke throw!. I'd be really surprised to see any camp allow him to participate after watching that. That my friends would be an automatic ejection from the game as that is some really dirty play!

Sign that kid up he's already more physical than half our CBs were last season.

What in the world?? How did that become an internet outrage, it was a dumb play but stuff like that must happen at these camps all the time?
Agree to a point... anybody know what happened to the receiver thrown to the ground? If he just got up and continued play, not a big deal at all... but if the play resulted in an injury, it is kind of a big deal imo.

Edit: after reading the USA Today article, I see that it sounds like he made amends with the receiver and It didn’t speak of any injuries. With that in mind, not as big a deal...

The receiver looks to give him an appreciative tap on the arm, then Henderson gives a tap on the butt as he returns to the offense side. No taunting or anything so I'm not sure what the uproar is about. Yes, it was a penalty on Saturdays but sign me up for a physical defensive back, coaching can change the technique. Winking
