Tyrese Maxey declares for the draft

[Shaudylo]

Hate we didn’t get to see him in the tournament . Best of luck

[Ron Mehico]

Good luck young man. Think he would’ve been great in the tournament, always turned it on in big games and was getting better and better. Sad we never got to see it.

[IndyCat1995]

Best of luck. Should be a top 10 pick.

[Random UK Fan_rivals71127]

Probably the best year for him to do it.

[STL_Cat]

No brainer. Good luck!

[dckala2_rivals16641]

He was made for the tournament, fml.

[Wildcatfan66]

Has a lot of potential. Would have loved to see how he played in NCAAT.

[MWes11]

Good Luck Tyrese and thanks for the memories.

[Big Blue Yeti]

He had to of smiled more than any former player I can remember! He always had a great attitude!! That alone will take him far in life, but he also has tremendous talent and poise to match. Best of luck to him in the future!

[LineSkiCat14]

Not much of a surprise. Good luck man.

To IQ, the two guys in your way are gone.. think about it!

[USMC Cat_rivals309254]

Could be a legitimate top 5 pick if he returned.

[RoyKent]

IQ tomorrow, Nick the next day (or vice versa) if I had to guess.

[STL_Cat]

As long as IQ leaves the door open to returning Im not going to get too torn up over declaring. If IQ declares and closes the door on a return, that will be a huge bummer.

[caneintally]

Makes sense the 2 guys who were never coming back announce on back to back days . Now I think we will hear from Richards , IQ and EJ over the next 2-3 days and all 3 will leave coming back open .

[ORCAT]

No question this is a good decision on his part. Loved his game and that smile of his which seemed contagious. Wish him nothing but the best in pursuing his dream. He will definitely be on my list of all time favorites at UK, loved watching him play and with how he should how competitive he was.

[Mike-D]

He’s a lottery pick. No problems with it. Good luck kid.

[jrpross_rivals]

Can’t fault a kid for leaving when he’s slated to go in the top 10. I wish him the best. I’ll always remember how he torched Michigan State and Louisville; arguably the two biggest games of the year.

On another note though, is it just me, or do the obvious ones always declare first? Like the “maybes” want to keep us in suspense. :joy:

[JimboBBN]

Agree with those who said he was made for the tournament. He shined brightest on the biggest stages. Good luck, Tyrese. Wildcat made.. I kinda like that.

[westerncat]

Wish him the best in life. Just wish we could enjoy watching him play for 2 years at UK but i understand him going.

[Jazzycat]

Loved Tyrese and his constant smile. His energy and enthusiasm was fun to watch. I wish him all the best in the pros.

[KyFaninNC]

Good luck young fellow, enjoyed watching you.

[ukfan041]

Not a surprise! Good luck, Tyrese! Thanks for torching MSU, duh ville, and being a consistent force all year long.

[Shaudylo]

Such a great kid

[Cowboys&Wildcats]

Tyrese will thrive at the next level, we only got to see a small portion of his all around game. I really believe this team had a shot.

[Canned Heat]

2 down, 3 to go, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

[HerrosHeroes]

No brainer.

[Son_Of_Saul]

I loved this kid's game and personality. Gonna miss that smile and that competitive bouncy swag.

Clarke will bring a bit of the same next year. This type of personality is a rarity.

[littlecreek]

I hope these are the only 2 leaving. If IQ and NR both leave, it will be a ROUGH year for us next season.

How do you know that? Wasn't it supposed rough this year with Richards?

[HerrosHeroes]

Spot on IC. When you reload like UK does all bets are off on “rough” seasons. Just an embarrassment of riches on a yearly basis.

[JerseyCat84_rivals57050]

He was a projected lottery pick so we won’t curse him or his parents out.

[Bluegrassking]

Represent us well, Tyrese. I wished we could behave seen you shine in the spotlight another nine times for #9.

[Calsarmy]

Anymore the time to begin following UK Basketball is about mid March. Just no continuity anymore. Lose 5 this week and back to 0. All we know at this point is we have no center. Aww well,,,, Go Big Blue!

[know1]

I can't see Quickley or Richards returning. EJ maybe.

[FrankUnderwood]

Could be a legitimate top 5 pick if he returned.

That would be incredibly stupid lmao.

[AFKY_Blue_RedsBengals]

As expected.

[hotelblue]

maxey had games where he was 2-10 but both shots would be huge and he would typically have a good floor game physically. he’s got pro written all over him. you basically wanted him out there whether he was hitting or not. he had a mature game for a freshman. early on he jacked up some bad shots and he grew from that very very well. he’ll be missed.
