That is so untrue of Ulis.

He only attempted 19 shots at the rim. Only made 9 in the half court.

Numbers don't lie. Eye test doesn't either. He just doesn't go in there.

Yeah, he didnt go to the rim and when he did there were some crazy heaves at the rim. Im slightly concerned about his scoring next year. I mean if he is aggresive getting to the paint and can actually hit the tear drop shots then were good, if not then....

DDMO.

Ulis, Newman, and Briscoe can all drive the ball. Poythress at the 4 needs to improve his jumper. Labissiere playing opposite the ball. When one guard drives, they have options. They can take it to the rim and finish get fouled or just get on the rim and let Labissiere or Lee clean it up. They can shoot a floater or a pull up jumper. They can kick it back out to another guard that can shoot or drive.

G Ulis
G Briscoe
G Newman
F Poythress
F Labissiere

F Lee- sixth man

Booker would be a nice addition. I hope he comes back as well.

I think our offense could be better next season, especially with Booker back.

I'm hoping this is the case too, but not holding my breath for it.

Love Cal's quote....complete trust in Tyler as a leader. It made me smile today.

Just said in another thread, I love the kid, and he's a true point, and has real heart. But certain teams can easily exploit him on defense.....That's why he didn't play much in the second half Saturday......

Then Cal better come up with a different type of defense........something other than man to man
This is true but most teams don't have a 4 or 5 playing on the perimeter. In most cases, a big is back there to bail him out. GBB

We struggle to rebound is a huge way with 5 .
With Poythress and Skai, i don't think rebounding will be too much of a problem. Not to sound like i'm bashing, but look at this year's team. All the size in the world and still got out rebounded a ton by smaller teams. I love Briscoe's game, but for our sake and his, i hope he's not asked to be our starting shooting guard.
Everyone blows my mind! You all act like Skal's eligibility is automatic. Go ahead and bash me and call me a troll, I just keep it real and with the obvious bias of the NCAA and the poor choices of Gerald Hamilton, Skal's coach/guardian, I see another Kanter deal. Or at the very least a stall investigation that keeps him on the bench. Now bash away.

It will be fun no doubt. Hopefully he will reach out to some of the elite undeclared players in next year's class to join him. Would love to see Newman and Brown join HIS team.
Translation .........Andrew and Aaron are gone !
Or it could mean that since Newman has been fairly outspoken to the fact that he wants to play PG that Cal know he's not coming here.

Most important thing for Ulis is to learn to be a leader.

1. He can't be so passive at times, which we saw.
2. Got to get stronger.

What is Ulis's team.
1. Can't be a switching on every screen team. To be honest, i think that was bad idea in the first place.
2. Fast Fast Fast.
3. You want spacing so you can take advantage of his ability to break down defense.

I would like to see better version of ND offense, which is going to be hard to pull off with out shooters with size/athleticism.

1. Ulis
2. Booker / Newman
3. Newman / Brown
4. Poythress / Lee
5. Big Rebounder (Dakari would be good, if he can stay. He'll have so much more room to work with)

Hopefully a 3 guard lineup whom all can shoot above 40% from 3 and 2 bulky, rebounding, good passing, non shot blocking forwards. The typical College makeup. I'm tired of the Dribble Drive and Shot Blocking centric teams of KY. Not fun to watch and as evident the other night, is not conducive to winning a championship. We got lucky in 2012 cause Anthony Davis is a Lebron/kobe/Durant caliber player.

If Johnson comes back, I just wonder how he fits on a "team built around Ulis."

Johnson doesn't really fit in on a team built for Ulis. Ulis needs mobile bigs like Labissiere, Lee, Maker, Diallo, etc.

Just my opinion.
