Who is/was the better PG at UK? Sure ulis is still here but we've seen enough to know how good he is.

Who would you take?

brandon knight is a better offensive threat because he can play off the ball and demands attention. no way did knight have the situation to be supreme team leader with liggins there. he was our offensive general with lamb side kicking. ulis controls this whole team though. he's the complete leader of the team and poythress nor lee will dispute it lol. so ulis i see as a program mvp, knight got his mvp status with his ncaat play which was mostly epic. but it took him all year to be able to get strong enough with the ball to handle an aaron craft for instance. ulis you can't really disrupt. from the minute he stepped on the floor as a freshman he had control of the ball and you couldn't rush him or take it from him. as an nba gm i'd have to take knight. as a uk fan if ulis guides us far or returns he's going to be hard to pass up. he's on pace for a spectacular uk career.

Ulis by a mile if he maintains his current trajectory.

In SEC play, Ulis is averaging more points per 40 with a higher TS% than Knight. He also is besting Knight in assists, steals, and turnovers per 40.

Ulis (9 games):

PP40 - 21
TS% - 61.1
SP40 - 1.6
AP40 - 7.2
TP40 - 2.2

Knight (16 games)

PP40 - 18.6
TS% - 56.7
SP40 - .5
AP 40 - 4.4
TP40 - 3.1

Ulis still has to go against a few very good defenses before this season is over. Florida and Texas A&M are top 10 in defensive efficiency. Vanderbilt, Georgia, and South Carolina aren't slouches on that end either. All of them are in the top 35 in defensive efficiency, and 4 of the games will be on the road. I expect him to put up better numbers than Knight at the end of the season, but a dip due in part to the defensive treachery that awaits is likely. Dipping from "awesome" to "awesome" wouldn't be concerning.

Do I get Knight as a sophomore at U.K. -- about which we can only theorize ? If so, I'd take Brandon.

If it's Knight as a freshman vs. Tyler as a sophomore, I probably take Tyler. He's playing about as well this year, overall, as a PG can play, IMHO.

I give the edge to Ulis because he can create so many of his shot , Knight was a great guard he was also playing on a much better team ..

I would have to go with Ulis because he is a pure point guard.

Ulis is always in control of the game, he needs his teammates to step up and make the plays they should make.

I can not remember a point guard that controls the games like he does. Anybody? Maybe Kyle Macy.

Ulis is the best point guard to play at UK in my lifetime. Even better than Kyle Macy who was my previous #1.
