...to us having a great season next year.

Without him, we are going to really struggle, particularly in the early going. Our players will be very talented, but they are all immature and there is no "transcendent" talent coming in like wall, Davis, Towns.

I'd guess there is a 15-20% chance Tyler comes back. If he does, we will be dominant from day 1. If he doesn't, go ahead and plan on losing 8-10 games, this board losing their mind all season, us getting shafted on our seed, and maybe making an unexpectedly good run in the tourney.

My vote for worst post ever. Not even close.

This class is no better or worse than the 2013 class with Harrison's, Randle, etc. maybe a little less deep.

Watching these guys, how are they better than 2013 with Harrison's, Randle, Johnson, Young, etc? And are our returning pieces that much better without Ulis?

I'm not even being negative, I'm just saying we lack a transcendent potential #1 pick next year, and without Ulis, we lack great returning talent. And that I believe it will be a struggle.

Guys I have watched these players for 2.5 years. I follow recruiting almost religiously. They are really talented players, but they are not the types ready to come in and murder D1 from day 1.

Please be a UL fan. At least that way your post makes sense.

This is the best group of incoming freshmen in a while . All the scouts agree with this but if MBC says they aren't they must not be b/c of one all star game which is the definition of meaningless. Do you judge NFL players on the pro bowl? LMAO . Someone end this thread as it is laughably moronic.

you mean the one that took UK to the FF that season?

Easy to say after an unorganized all star game. Once these guys get into a system, they will be fine. Our highest touted guy didn't play very well. Bam was a monster. Malik....Wow! I didn't know the kid had a motor like that. Sascha played OK. But our highest rated guy in De'Aaron Fox struggled by all star standards. Clearly Tyler would help, but UK will be fine. Side note: Whoever gets Bolden will have the #1 class. That young man can ball.

I hope people don't take me the wrong way. Those guys are phenoms, no question!! But they're all like 17-18, and it's just tough to expect them to come in and insta-dominate without a couple similarly talented experienced returnees. That's my whole point.

No one can tell you your opinion is wrong. But that's kind of the opposite of every other recruiting analyst/site/service in the country. So, that's hard to get people to think you have any idea.

Guy with biggest upside and maybe the one with number 1 draft potential wasn't even playing. Gabriel from all reports has made the biggest move since Summer of any of these guys, he is a stretch 4 or can play 2 or 3 in some situations. Cal has said the guy is amazing.

What a stupid post from OP.

Diallo was the All-Star MVP can't miss player last year that never played for Kansas. Didn't Skal drop 23? Or was that in another All-Star game?

You mean the one where I said this class is no better than 2013? Are you kidding me? Do you remember the ratings and meta-view of the quality of that class?

I think these guys are very talented, but they are a very balanced, young class being added to, likely, a lesser-talented team. The type that, during Cal's tenure, has struggled early and over performed in the tourney. Typically been very bad on the road.

Now, if Ulis (or maybe Briscoe) returns, that changes.

This combination of incoming talent with an improved Briscoe, confident Willis, and maturing Humphries is arguably better than 4 solid freshman (none of which were Wall, Davis, or Towns) plus Poythress and an improving WCS.

Once we add Bolden, or if we keep Skal, our roster is nuts.

The demeanor of Monk, Fox and Adebayor will be the major difference.

I don't want to fan the flames OP but I think you jumped the gun big time with any assessment of NEXT YEAR'S team. There's little or no chance whatsoever that Tyler comes back and you can't make a bold statement at this point. Then the post went right out the window when it somehow tilted toward your wife. Take a deep breath and let's hope we're as good as advertised. I like the 'glass is half full' approach.
