Says Tyler could be competing for the starting job with the Jets.

That's good news. I heard he had either a really bad OTA or mincamp day where he dropped 3 passes. Jets offer a good chance for him. They are continually waiting for Herndon to break out. The new Jet offense should be TE friendly.

It may be people reporting are basing his success or lack of on his drops. There are other aspects of the position that Kroft could be excelling at and contributing to his chances of winning the starting job.
