Kid should just play ball and quit with the barking. It’s the NBA you don’t want to get a rep as a whiner. It was good physical play, no reason for all that bravado. Just ball, if I wanted WWE and God I don’t, id watch it.

What they were doing happens all of the time in the NBA. The fact that they got thrown out over it is a bit ridiculous.

Dude it’s 2019 not 1978!

This seems an ignorant post. You've no clue if you think this sort of thing was more tame back then.

In the 70s and 80s players could get into full on brawls and get only technicals. Seriously, it was a normal thing for guys who'd just been punching each other to not only stay in the game, but still be guarding each other a minute later. Whereas today just saying the wrong word gets you kicked out.

Today's game does not remotely compare in that respect. I'm not saying that's a good thing, but the fact is that mch more dirty and physical **** was allowed back then. Just the truth.

They were given 2 technicals and ejected over the span of 29 seconds, and they never even interrupted game action.

It's almost like I was watching college football's targeting penalty.

they weren’t even close to each other when the second calls were made. Herro was facing away from him to get the ball, clearly not saying a word. Can anyone explain what the hell happened on the second technical?

That ejection on both ends was a bit ridiculous, IMO. Exchanging words and playing physical ball gets you tossed now?

His teammates loved it and it wasn't even a scuffle. He just wasn't going to back down to MCW

Butler said he deserved it because he probably heard the things Tyler was saying lol. He’s been talking trash since summer league like a vet which is why I figured Butler would love him and Butler confirmed it in his post game interview. As some one who talked trash when playing in HS college and Europe I LOVE the trash talk Herro has been talking

Herro is a dog. I love it. He's gotta be one of the most confident/cocky UK players in last 4/5 years

Maybe so , but Auburn can always give him a call ...

And the Tech ?? WTH , that was the weakest ejection I've ever seen . Doesn't matter I won't be watching much ( any ??) of the NBA anyway

Lastly if the human douche that is JImmy Butler is in your corner , you might want another corner .

PS .. Can you imagine a rookie in the 1980's trash talking vet's thru summer league ? He would rightfully be blackballed as a punk who would never make the regular season . I really really REALLY hope Tyler lets his game do the talking and skip the ******** persona like he's the Justin Bieber of the NBA .

Weak take. This is professional basketball and “barking” is part of the game. The refs were soft as hell.

I'm on a soap box with this , might as well say it -- why in God's green earth would Tyler Herro be cocky ? Can we point to any collective or individual award he's ever won ? And dont give any HS nonsense. His biggest claim to fame ? Hell he doesn't have one because he hasn't accomplished much AT THIS POINT . But hey its 2019 , everyone is a star . Well not in my book , he looks like a kid that desperate for attention. Like he doesn't know what to do with all that talent he has . for starters I'd be a little more humble. NOW. , get off my lawn , I'm pissed it frosted last night .

I’d agree with @ManitouDan if he was spouting off in the locker room or talking trash off the court. Heat of the moment jawing back and forth during a game is all good with me. MCW was trying to punk a rookie and Herro wasn’t having it. I like it.

I don’t expect Tyler to back down . Maybe , no not maybe , the ref entirely over reacted , but we can’t be blind that Tyler is displaying and has displayed a ton of bravado without any real tangible thing to hang his hat on .

And great trash talk is personal . I’m not against it . One of the greatest trash talkers of all time is my hero — Larry Bird . Read his book if you want to know how to properly trash talk . Carry on , differing opinions make for a good message board
