He was injured at the draft camp also.he was the quickest hopper I ever saw at Iowa. My favorite dunker over Gerry Wright. That is why I was shocked at his 32 inch vertical at the combine.
that would explain it. he was so explosive off the hop. and a violent dunker. he gave me more holy f**k dunks than anyone. He was injured at the draft camp also.
Old-timers may remember Clay Hargrave. He had some serious vertical. Officially listed at 6'4", but may not have been quite that tall. I remember hearing that he could touch the top of the backboard, but I don't know if that's true. Regardless, as a junior he led the B1G in rebounding, and he was going up against the likes of Kevin McHale, Mychal Thompson, and Joe Barry Carroll. He threw down some thundering dunks, too, when it became legal again. Dunking was verboten 1967-76.he was the quickest hopper I ever saw at Iowa. My favorite dunker over Gerry Wright. That is why I was shocked at his 32 inch vertical at the combine.
I remember Mac McCausland telling us that we'd see a lot of Cook dunks during an early game. He was so right.
It wasn't like it was a secret

Nice change for the program wasn't it?I remember drooling after seeing this edit when Cook was a recruit.
Fran looks enthused with what's transpiring and he's wearing a suit

How we'll be able to date it as Pre-COVID 19Fran looks enthused with what's transpiring and he's wearing a suit
There was another monster dunker at Iowa, his name escapes me right now.
Yes!You better be thinking of Doug Thomas and shame on everyone for not bringing him up yet.
He and Tony Moeaki had an impromptu dunk contest at the Field House. It was insanely fun to watch.

Sir Jam-A-Lot was an awesome defensive weapon at the back end of Dr. Tom's full court press. He swatted away a LOT of shots when opponents thought they had broken the press.Sir Jam-A-Lot was awesome, so was Cook!
TBF, in grad school, the strength and conditioning coach told us (the advanced strength and conditioning students) that the vert stats that are reported are often BS.I was shocked at his 32 inch vertical at the combine.

As was his teammate Jayson Tatum. Well, not really. I know a guy who'd go and watch Cook in HS and tell me that Tatum was NBA ready as a Jr.I remember drooling after seeing this edit when Cook was a recruit.
