Two people that I think we need to recognize today...

First, Scotty Dubrule. He won the transfer lottery. While his numbers weren't stellar, from about late April on, he had the most gritty at-bats of anyone on the team. He grinded those things out and came up huge for us. His defense was also pretty damn good.

Second, Landon Jordan. He lost the transfer lottery and it turned out to be a huge gain for us. There was a time this year in which Landon would've got the 3B starting job back. But thank God is was James that got back in there. James had a really solid offensive and defensive CWS.


Another quick note... I hate that Cumbest didn't get to play in the final game. He earned that spot. But Brayland caught one in that gap off of Bednar that Cumbest wouldn't have got to. Brayland's speed paid off for us multiple times this CWS.

What a night. Still kinda walking on air here in Texas. I paced around the house last night in daze trying to keep my infants from screaming. Pretty surreal feeling. What's even more amazing is that Games 2 and 3 were about as low stress as they get. We really dominated them and made their offense look foolish.

I know everyone is focused on the performances from Game 3, but you can't leave out Hootie and Preston Johnson shutting down the Vandy bats in Game 2. That performance effectively gave us a huge advantage heading into Game 3 with the bullpen.

What those two did, saving the arms for Wednesday, was simply magical. They were gigantic roles that HAD to be played for us to win both games.

Vandy went into game 2 with a lot of doubts offensively and then Hootie & Preston broke them completely.

Then Vandy went into game 3 with a lot of doubts defensively and in pitching and the Dawgs all proceeded to break them there too.

It finally showed when the right fielder gave an ole’ to that ball hit in front of him.

Their asses were beat and they knew it.

I would like to thank the thousands of MSU faithful who made the trip and represented us so well. They gave us a huge home field advantage and deserve at least an honorable mention as our MVP. Nice job guys and gals !
