Will always wonder 'bout Fryer....and not in a positive way. Cough... cough... Orangle Bowl.....

...drop
He dropped that with just over a minute to go in the game

We could have kicked the PAT to tie the game. Miami needed to then throw every down and go for it on 4th down even if deep in their territory. If we hold we might have had a FG attempt to outright win but at worst we win a national title with a tie

True. Miami's pro style offense was going up and down the field on our D that night. I always wondered if T.O had won his first National title that night if he would have coached until 1997 and won his first? Plus two more? So glad he excorcised the demons and beat the Miami pukes on there home field for his first. Watching Sapp and Ray Lewis get steamrolled in the 4th quarter with hands on hips and bent over sucking air is still so satisfying. GBR!!

I'm not saying he did or didn't do it on purpose but Fryer's actions later jn life suggested he is exactly the kind of person who would do such a thing....hope he didn't do it on purpose but if I were forced to bet an amount of cabbage I'd never recover from if I guessed wrong, I know what side I'd be placing that cabbage on.....and Harmon prolly profited from his bad day too.

Watch until the end, they show it slowed down at the end of the clip. Sure looks like he pulls his hands away as the ball hits them and doesn’t even try to reach for it like receivers usually do when they bobble the ball. It looks like he has no intention of catching that ball.

I feel that when guys drop an important/easy catch, they usually react to their mistake immediately. Instead Fryer jogged another 10 yards like it was no big deal then realized "oh ****, I better react like I didn't mean to drop that." and fell to his knees. His reaction just didn't seem authentic.

With that being said, Fryer still had 5 catches for 60 yards, Gill only completed 53% of his pass attempts & Livingston missed 2 FGs. Plus we ran 24 more plays than Miami.

So even if he did purposely drop it (which I actually doubt he did), Nebraska didn't play very well.

Besides Fryer I’d have to give the 2nd spot to Quency. I think the jets put the franchise tag on him at one point.
