Are either one of these the dreaded "sucker punch guy"?

Not sure if you're serious, but no.

Be interesting to see what the actual claim against them is. It says investigators believed they verbally assaulted an intoxicated girl. You can legally assault somebody without touching them if you threaten them physically. But if they were just asses and ragging on a drunk girl and then the other guys roided out; I don't think that's a criminal act on their part just because a brawl followed. But if the guy also assaulted a 53 year old man the fall before, maybe they actually did assault a girl.

I think the general sentiment among the community is “f*ck the sucker punch guy”

Sounds like some of the young men on the wrong end of this beating may have been giving a young lady (who’d had way too much to drink) a pretty hard time and said some things to her that were way out of line. The guys who won the fight may have actually been the “good guys” in this one, although that sucker punch was still uncalled for and really dangerous. Good thing for all involved that the kid fell on the grass and not the sidewalk.

All of you know that they are all getting charged with Misdemeanor Simple Assault right? They will be charged about $350.00 for a fine and that will be it. No jail time. Nothing really to it.
Sure, there might be civil suits, but how much money do a bunch of 22 year old's have? NONE, so you will be wasting thousand in lawyers fee's on that.
It really is a crappy system but that's the real world for you.

This is probably the 50 y/o in me talking but I'm thinking assaulting a 53 y/o man and assualting a girl should be left in different categories. I'm pretty sure I would stomp either of those guys.

But then again I'm not looking to go toe-to-toe with Ronda Rousey so there are exceptions to my point.

You have any sources for this? Even if they said things that were out of line, that wouldn't make the trash the good guys. It would just mean there weren't any particularly good guys. I suspect that not all the people they were hitting said anything to the girl(s). Even if a drunk guy made an offhanded comment, that doesn't generally justify roiding out and decking people. I'm a fan of people behaving like they might get their *** beat for being a dick, but I seriously doubt anything they said would have justified starting a brawl like that. If you want to fight a guy for somethign he said, maybe. But you don't go around sucker punching every body trying to break it up or deescalate the situation.

Plus the other thing that prevents me from siding with the, "D'Iberville Duo" is the fact that video shows two of them ganging up on one of the other guys. After one of them takes the dude down to the ground, his buddy comes over the top of them and starts wailing on the guy.

Seems like Harrison porter is quite the idiot. Assaulting a 53 year old?

They're definitely in different categories, but I am guessing 21 year olds charged with assaulting a 53 year old still probably hit girls at a higher rate than the general population? Just a general overlap of people who don't control their tempers and/or get belligerent when they are drunk or on drugs.

There will be some jobs where a misdemeanor assault conviction will prevent them from getting the job. Guessing at least one of them is not in line for those jobs anyway, but it's something. Not sure about the guy enrolled at state. If he wants to go back and work somewhere around biloxi, may not matter.

Yep. Really the whole point of the arrest is for SPD to send a message that fighting won’t be tolerated.

Yes on your question, and yes I also agree, “good guys” is the wrong choice of words. Seems like maybe somebody looking for a fight ran into a “good” reason to have a fight, maybe?

Not a good night for anybody there, that much is certain, including the folks holding their cameras and encouraging the participants.

I see guys with the Bama Bangs like this, and I always wonder:

Did he just take off a hat? Every time I see them, it looks like they just took off a hat they've had on for two days.

It's the important questions like this I need to know.

I think you can put a lien against them so if they ever win the lottery they're 17ed.

Good guys? Did you watch the video? You don't have to pick a side. They can all be shitstain ********.

You can defend a woman's honor, even with violence, and not act like some meathead dumbass on PCP.

If the thing about the girl is true, then all that has changed is we now have more scum than before.

Generally speaking a twenty-something has very little money. You never know who might or might not have money.

Yep, “good guys” wasn’t the right term. I meant it as in the old movies, but this may be more of a Tarantino type thing, where everybody’s a bad guy.

Just rumor from a Coast friend. Didn't mean to imply he played here. All of them are from D'Iberville and this sort of thing isn't uncommon.

This whole deal is a failure unless they arrest the dread lock Atlanta Braves shitstain.

The whole deal is a failure if the Atlanta braves guy doesn’t spend at least a month in jail. That’s probably not going to happen. Really, all three should at least spend s little bit of time in jail, even if it’s just a week. Having them get the same punishment as somebody who just gets in s minor altercation or even just threatens somebody is somewhat ridiculous, but that’s probably what will happen.

Question as to civil suits....doesn't there have to be some actual damages to get a judgement? These guys aren't out any money. Unless they claim emotional distress, what are the actual damages? I'm no attorney, but I don't see how the could get a monetary judgement.

Pain and suffering and punitive damages. And like people said, a monetary judgment is probably not worth a lot against these guys. You can spend the next seven years chasing them down, but you probably wouldn't get enough money to justify the costs. You'd have to do it as a matter of principal.

Basically, any time the guy gets a job, in the event they got it because the employer doesn't run a back ground check, then you are more or less putting the employee on notice of the event when you garnish their wages. The employer then has to decide if they care. If they keep them on and there is an event at work, then the employer has increased their exposure potentially due to negligent hiring. Looks like one of them does landscaping and is maybe a rough neck, so I doubt it would impact him. The one still in school it might.

Starkville PD will have done the community a disservice if this piece of trash is not arrested for felony assault. They obviously can't identify or can't find the guy, or he would have already been arrested. All they need to do is attach a $1000 reward for the arrest of the dude, and we would be seeing his mugshot by the end of the day. Somebody out there knows who the guy wearing the Atlanta Braves shirt is.

Trust me, there are plenty of people on social media that will help spread the word they are looking for him.

Just a guess but I suspect they know who he is but he is just not cooperating. Or they may think they have enough to track him down without offering an award and are working on that first.

As long as no one was hurt badly, this is nothing more than a standard brawl that happens most every weekend. These guys got caught. Just scare them and give them a fine and move on.

It’s not worth worrying someone’s life over.

This **** had to be commonplace back in the day, before iPhones and toxic masculinity.

I can’t help but laugh at a few of the comments regarding the brawls arrested are from the coast and you would expect nothing less. Should I remind those from Jackson, whose fine youth beat and ran a black man over. And recently in the news, some fine standing northern MS lads, while visiting Memphis, called out and beat a black man, while yelling racist slurs and stealing his shoes. Those that live in glass houses. Pieces of **** come from all geographical area and races.
