I remember the day the students picked up the "Fornication Guy" in front of the Union and threw him in the old Broyhill Fountain. He was definitely not feeling the Lord's power of forgiveness that day.

Idk what the frick the point of that was but it gave me fond memories of enjoying life in college when the only thing that mattered was having enough beer money for the weekend and trying to get laid. If college only existed for that, it’s still worth it.

Not sure whether I'm thinking of the same guy, but in the late 70's early 80s there was a guy who preached by the fountain. He was against everything, sex, drugs, R&R, which in the late 70's is what many people did a lot of. People stood there and jeered, but I just walked on by. Obviously the guy was there to get attention and by jeering, folks were just buying into his game. Flash forward 40 years....I don't feed the trolls who come here, it is the same concept of unstable people seeking attention.
