I think it's just a matter of that low seed playing very hard, as I recall back in about '09 we had a struggle with low seed hickory but came back the next week and beat up on burns. I believe it just gives those kids a boost to come up and play that higher seed with a nice record and the longer they stay in the game, the more confident they become, plus they had 2 weeks to prepare and they did a good job of it.

If Tuscola had won the "just another game" they would currently be awaiting a home playoff game with a team that they already put 68 on this season. IF a bullfrog had wings, right?

All of this is true IMO as well. Not to mention they had some real low country talent on that team across the board.

When your claim to fame is beating Burns that sets a pretty low bar. "Shoot low they're riding Shetland ponies."

Don't be shallow minded, I said nothing about a "claim to fame".

Kind of reminds me of the 2005 season the mountaineers had to beat TC just to get in the playoffs, then went on the road to sun valley and won, and then played Charlotte Catholic to a nail biting 21-14 loss who went on to win the 3AA championship. Just saying that teams play different when their season is on the line. I think we finished 6-6 that season and that CC game was one the best I've seen.

Tuscola struggled with Hickory in the playoffs Hibriten killed Hickory that year. Then Tuscola beat Hibriten by 1 so you never know.
