State has played pretty well since the LSU game. They lost two heartbreakers vs LSU and OU that you cant say is lack of effort, but those losses suck. They lost to a better Kentucky team, and they had a outlier game against Ole Miss where State was within reach with like 8 mins or so left, but just lost control and composure. The whole “team doesn’t play with effort” is a really lame excuse and it’s BS most of the time. A 5 game winning streak just doesn’t happen in SEC basketball if a team doesn’t play with effort.
The bottom line is this. The women’s games are easier on our fanbase because it’s basically guaranteed they will win every single game. It’s not really about effort. Thats a bunch of bs. If the women’s team were to start loosing, the majority of people would stop following them, no matter how much effort they put up. It’s as simple as that.
I also remember some comment about how the women’s team was way more like able, because they actually signed autographs and **** after the game. Apparently the men don’t do that. I’m going to call BS on that too, because just last Saturday after Vandy game, I saw the men’s team giving out autographs and talking with the fans and stuff. Maybe that’s a new thing for them IDk?
Anyway, I have really enjoyed the last 3 years of men’s basketball. It feels good to be somewhat relevant in the SEC again. I enjoy going to the games. I love when the hump gets loud with like maybe 6,000 or so in attendance. I do feel sorry for the team when they won some big games this year and last to a half full hump. Hope they win another 5 games going into Ole Miss. They are capable. Hailstate and screw all “state fans” that hate them.
Also Reggie Perry maybe one of the most talented basketball players to ever play here. He’s having a heck of a season, and it’s fun to watch. Even when he has a bad game, he’s still scoring 15 points.
