Best crowd energy yet this season.

I also ran into a longtime season ticket holder tonight. He had given up his tickets but just reupped. Had to be convinced.

One thing I’ve noticed this year is a fundamental change in philosophy in how we defend screens and rolls. I have yet to see the on ball defender go under the screen, instead fighting over the top. Makes it easier to defend the 3 from that instead of rolling under the screen. Second, and this is why Behrend is starting and playing more than Smikle (IMO), Behrend is a lot quicker to get back with his man when he sets the scree and then rolls to the basket. Maybe Rice is just inept on this entry passes but the combination of the 2 styles I’ve talked about makes it extremely difficult to find an entry pass into the post.

Overall, our D is way more aggressive in sticking tight to players and our guys seem to fight to stay with their man. It can be really frustrating to play against a defense that seemingly takes pride in denying anything.

Reilly and Lawal together. I cannot remember that but good against the press with neither in foul trouble.

I really enjoy that when we get our foot on the opponents neck, we don’t hesitate to step down harder and snap it. My god.

To boot, Riley and Barnstable didn’t have their usual games and yet Popola and Lawal stepped up.

Finally a team that doesn't take their foot off the gas with the lead. It's been since 2003-5ish since I seen a team that continued to extend the lead when we had it

61% shooting, 68% from deep, 83% from the line. +16 on the boards and 19-10 assist to turnovers. At half we had more turnovers than assists so we must have focused on ball handling and passing in the second half.
