Cam did great. He was the last guy still out on the field at the end of the 06 Louisville game- long after everyone left. Great dude, and he got some NFL experience in too.

I get that Marinovich family vibe with this family. I would not be surprised if these kids burnout quickly. Although unlike Todd Marinovich these kids seem like nice kids.

Samoans coming here? it's a nice optimism. Plus it keeps improving every little look some try realizing. It's not getting easier, really. Any Samoan helps

Wow. Maryland has a TON of talent on its roster. They have been recruiting at a clip the last couple of years. No idea how good this kid is supposed to be but if he is , a QB makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE

Roko They are Samoan. There are actually very few native Hawaiians . Check your Wikipedia

Actually, there are about 80,000 native Hawaiians (who are ethnically Polynesian) in Hawaii, according to recent estimates. In addition, the state attracts a large number of Polynesians, including Samoan, Tongans, and American Samoas, who live in an unincorporated US territory just a short flight from independent Samoa.

I visited all three several few years back. In American Samoa, I met very few people who didn't have relatives in Hawaii and others in California. Due to the American influence, kids there grow up liking our football, while in independent Samoa, they grow up playing rugby. I was told, presumably in jest, that Samoa's number one export was "highly paid rugby players." I was also told, not in jest, that remittances from the large number of Samoans abroad, mostly in New Zealand and Australia, quadrupled the total value of all of the country's exports each year, a statistic that amazed me. So in reality, the export of people is their number one foreign exchange earner, similar to the Philippines.

Lecture over. Quiz is on Monday.

Taulia was a top 200 Recruit with a 92 rating on 247. Even so, looks like he was transferring because he was not going to see the field at Alabama.

I'm sure Locksley had a relationship with him from when he was an assistant at Alabama.

If nothing else, Locksley seems to be punching above Maryland's typical recruiting weight class. Whether he can do the same when it comes to running the rest of the program and ultimately winning games remains to be seen, but he'll at least have the tools to do so as far as recruits go.

Recruiting, yes, coaching, no. I don't see the current coaching staff delivering on field results even with a pretty talented roster. They can recruit, I will give them that.

Maryland has recruited very well over the past 5 to 6 years. Their on field results are subpar relative to the talent on the roster.

Sure bad QB play will result in decreased, offensive possession time and fewer points. But PSU hung 59 points on MD. Purdue 40. Minnesota 52. OSU 73!!!, and 5-7 Nebraska 54 points. The QB doesn't play defense.

The problem is Locksey needs to actually coach.

Eco I lived in Oceanside California Junior Seau's hometown. You want Samoans and Tongans you will find them there. They don't play hoops. They don't play baseball. Wrestling? Nope. Tennis Swimming Track? Nope. Nope Nope. They play football . And they play it like it's a birthright. The women are almost as big and strong as the men. Impressive humans.

Despite Maryland consistently out recruiting Rutgers since joining the B1G, Rutgers is 2-4 against the Terrapins.

Maryland does less with more. Not a good look.

Rutgers will beat them this year.

Cali What is about Mr.Locksley that makes you think he can't coach?Be honest now little guy.

Not sure if you're serious but the guy is 6-40 as a head coach. Maryland was 3-9 this past year, two games worse than the previous year and with several Ash-like blowouts, including losing 54-7 at home to Nebraska who finished 5-7.
I'd say at best the jury is out on him.
