Actually, per the radio pregame show, both Burnett & Revels are both backups. They were both injured last season & are now part of our very good second team defense.
That may be the best half of defense we've played since 2012 and there are 25 points on the board. Crazy
Yes. He should have been.the last 2 years and this embarrassment are proof that was a fluke.
We'd be hiring our next coach from the INFC if we fired a coach that took us from 2-10 to 10-3 after one bad year
Then who’s the started in that role? I can’t imagine that person playing better than Burnett played that half.
I actually didn't hate Monty's game plan as far as offense goes. Our receivers have found holes and we've made the throws for first downs. I think this team will look better when we're not playing Michigan State. They're a bad matchup for us in terms of their run defense.
Our O-line needs to gel. And with Smith being the established starter now, he'll have some more reps with whoever the center ends up being the rest of the season.
Play has been incredibly sloppy. Seriously four turnovers and a punt block! In one half? That is a horrible embarrassment.
Ok. I haven’t seen Cannon out there much. I may be mistaken. I saw #6 who I thought was Revels, and #35 for most of the half after MSUs first drive. I thought Cannon was #4 and I don’t recall seeing him much.
And kudos to Manny Bunch. Probably the best I’ve seen him tackle while at TU.
Michigan State is a team I would have loved to have played at the end of this season in a bowl game rather than an opener. Kind of like Iowa State in 2012. I think we could beat them if we had time to work out the kinks in the O-line.

I would’ve gone for the punt block. No pressure = monster punt for MSU.
I just don't understand how we have two bad snaps and all those penalties. Oh wait, I do understand. The HC/OC doesn't instill discipline in his players nor does he play the best players for specific positions, instead choosing guys who are older.
Good. Let's see if it pays off. I still say Monty can't get proper discipline in the team... But I hope he corrects these problems.
