I think it depends on your state and hospital policy. I had surgery Weds and could have no visitors, in fact the wife couldn't even enter the building, then when they checked me out they wheeled me to car so the wife never entered the building. But Nevada is still pretty locked down.
All this in my view is because early on we didn't know what we were up against. Renown the main hospital in Northern Nevada at great expense converted the first floor of it's parking garage to a covin treatment center. Never seen a patient. you can't blame anyone at the time we were seeing Italy being completely over run.
