So, lets look into the future a few years. So, lets say a Democrat wins in 2020. Will you be perfectly fine with that president shutting down the government over something he/she promised on the campaign trail? just pick any Democrat talking point, climate control, gun control etc. The Senate wont give them to funding to accomplish that promise, so they shutdown the government. you ok with that?

No. It’s not really a hypothetical though. Obama did shut the Govt down and it was blamed on the GOP then, it’s blamed on the GOP now, and it’ll be blamed on the GOP in the future.
Right. Only Trump can't cave. Democrats don't have a furious base. They would be fine to show any cave towards Trump. I think most of us recognize reality. Trumpers are the ones struggling, imo.

They're not the same. In one, one party wanted to strip funding for a program the sitting President wanted and campaigned on. In the other, one party wanted to deny funding for a program the sitting President wanted and campaigned on.
Here are the facts on the 2013 shutdown. The debt limit needed to be raised. Some GOP members thought if they could prevent normal business and raise it, they could leverage that to not fund current laws specifically targeting the ACA. So again they were playing with citizens lives as a poor attempt to get their way. Dems and Obama said no to that legislative hostage taking. That is the only similarity.
