I am proud to announce the formation of the FEMA Review Council, comprised of Top Experts in their fields, who are Highly Respected by their peers. It is my Great Honor to appoint to the Council, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Governor Greg Abbott, Governor Glenn Youngkin, former Governor Phil Bryant, Michael Whatley, Mayor Jane Castor, Kevin Guthrie, W. Nim Kidd, Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz, Mark Cooper, Bob Fenton, and Evan Greenberg. I know that the new Members will work hard to fix a terribly broken System, and return power to State Emergency Managers, who will help, MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN. Congratulations to all!

SHOCKING: The Department of Treasury’s new automated payment verification system went live, identifying and BLOCKING approximately $334M in improper payment requests., according to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The payments were rejected due to:
-Missing budget codes
-Invalid budget codes
-Budget codes with no authorization

Amazing job!

Yesterday, the neoconservative David Brooks wrote this in an OpEd in the NY Times,

"Trumpism… is primarily about the acquisition of power — power for its own sake. It is a multifront assault to make the earth a playground for ruthless men, so of course any institutions that might restrain power must be weakened or destroyed. Trumpism is about ego, appetite and acquisitiveness and is driven by a primal aversion to the higher elements of the human spirit — learning, compassion, scientific wonder, the pursuit of justice. …

What is happening now is not normal politics. We’re seeing an assault on the fundamental institutions of our civic life, things we should all swear loyalty to — Democrat, independent or Republican.

It’s time for a comprehensive national civic uprising. It’s time for Americans in universities, law, business, nonprofits and the scientific community, and civil servants and beyond to form one coordinated mass movement. Trump is about power. The only way he’s going to be stopped is if he’s confronted by some movement that possesses rival power. …

I’m really not a movement guy. I don’t naturally march in demonstrations or attend rallies that I’m not covering as a journalist. But this is what America needs right now."

Fascism! Cruelty!
That's the thing, when you put fascists in power and they fire everyone with experience, expertise and knowledge about the systems who could explain, you just have to take their word for it. And in this case, we're taking the word of someone who has already lied about fraud, waste and abuse multiple times.

So people made mistakes in filing and the system required them to correct it?

Good Job?
I don't know the reasons. Probably mistakes, i would agree. It's crazy that the gov't didn't have something in place before now prevent mistakes and ensure that expenditures can be effectively audited. The fact that we didn't spent 2 years talking about how it suhould be done followed buy 5 more years paying contractors to get it done is the "Good Job" in my book.

Every taxpayer should be happy, no matter what side of the aisle you sit.

All this is is literaly a systemic fix to ensure that expenditures are properly approved and are classified so that they can be monitored and audited. This isn't anythign that should be controversial.

How do we know if we should be happy if we don't know what the payments were for? They could have been for critical needs and that's why it makes no sense to fire everyone with institutional knowledge before we assume the payments are wasteful, when they could have been easily explained.

Who cares what the payments were for?

-Missing budget codes
-Invalid budget codes
-Budget codes with no authorization

Put a valid code on it and push the button again.

Do you really expect they'll even make a half-hearted effort to do that? 😅
If Bob the button pusher can't or won't then I guess it's either not that important or it is something that Bob thinks he's going to get in trouble for doing either way it's good.

Weird that you seem to not want accuntabiliy and auditibility of government expenditures. But i get it, Elon is somehow related to it so it's bad.

Do you really believe that Elon the destroyer, who wants to burn it all down, would even give BTBP a chance to correct it, assuming he hasn't already fired him? 😅

You're right thought, I don't trust Elon to cut actual waste, only make-believe waste that he considers woke.
