As a result of President Trump's negotiations with Congo, US firms are now buying up Congolese mining assets at a record pace to crush China's near-monopoly on the mineral industry.
Virtus Minerals, a company led by American military vets, just agreed to pay $30,000,000 for one of the largest cobalt mines in the world. The project includes a $750 million capital investment plan.
Orion CMC, a U.S. government-backed venture, recently signed an agreement to acquire a 40% stake in two of the world's premier copper and cobalt operations. The deal secures direct American oversight. For context, the operations produced nearly 250,000 tons of copper and over 30,000 tons of cobalt last year.
KoBold Metals, a company backed by Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, recently secured seven exploration permits in Congo, positioning them to develop one of the world's largest untapped lithium deposits. The total investment is $1 billion for AI-driven exploration & resource mapping.
More negotiations are underway for additional projects as we speak. Manganese, Gold, Tantalum, Coltan, Lithium projects are in the pipeline.
The Trump admin isn't just focusing on overseas deals; Trump has also fast-tracked new mining in the United States, from expediting deep-sea mining to opening up more federally owned lands for exploration & mining. Everything is being done.
Reindustrialization doesn't just happen overnight. We need resilient supply chains.
For Congo, they get much-needed investments that will create tens of thousands of jobs & the investors are more environmentally conscious. Chinese firms have no problem polluting rivers and partnering with artisanal miners.

Taiwan will remove "99%" of trade barriers on US and purchase $84 billion worth of American goods.
In early 2025, Trump threatened 32% reciprocal tariff on Taiwan, which was later adjusted to 20% by August.
Trump repeatedly uses tariffs to force others to the negotiating table. Then he gets a better deal for the USA. But the Democrats keep getting upset at Trump and trying to block him from negotiating deals for us. It is crazy that they hate Trump so much they want to block him from improving our trade position.
