with all due respect for Mr Moskowitz, for that 15 years of no repeal and replace, American have had to live with the ACA. Which, if take anything away from the 40+day shutdown, is not very affordable, did not insure all 41 million Americans, save us money, return $2500 annually, make healthcare more available etc.
So if we're logical about this, we'd come to the conclusion that neither party has a monopoly on ideas for healthcare. Maybe instead of sticking fingers in each others eyes, they'd try working together for the benefit of the American people and design a plan that works.
Someone should tell Mr Moskowitz that the house minority leader has already said he'd vote against the Republican plan even, as Mr Moskowitz points out, doesn't exist yet.

You follow your fellow Republicans in criticizing the ACA, but polls show that the majority of Americans love it. They love not being denied coverage for pre-existing conditions. They like having health care when they could not afford it before and did not have it. Millions of Americans fit that description. So what if the ACA did not insure all Americans?! It insured one hell of a lot more Americans than the prior system insured. And BTW, what is this 41 million figure about?. And the ACA did without question make health care more available.
So, when it comes to ideas for health care, the Democrats DO IN FACT have a monopoly on those ideas. At least they have a monopoly on health care ideas that have been announced to the public. So far it's crickets from the GOP.

for some reason you can't get over the fact that democrats lost this election not because voters liked trump or all his policies, but because democrats put up a losing candidate. Kamala got about 6 million fewer votes than Biden did in 2020, whereas trump picked up 3 million more than he got in 2020. So if she kept the Biden voters she wins -popular vote.
Democrats should have won this election, and they likely would have with a better candidate and better message. Having just "suffered" through 9% inflation, the concept of "nothing comes to mind" about policy changes just didn't fly with voters.
While I think James Carville has passed his "use by" date, I think he's 100% right about democrats having to give up the identity politics and get down to substance. The next election should focus on affordability, healthcare, immigration IMO.
