Shame on him for separating families at the border, parents from small children then blaming the policy on Dems?!! He's cruel then doesn't have the backbone to own up to the policy. Worst president ever.

Previously, families suspected of crossing the border illegally were allowed to stay together until their cases were resolved. In early May, attorney general Jeff Sessions announced a “zero tolerance” policy on illegal immigration.

A Department of Homeland Security official told Reuters: “Those apprehended will be sent directly to federal court under the custody of the US Marshals Service, and their children will be transferred to the custody of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement.”

On Friday Laura St John of the Florence Project, an Arizona nonprofit that provides legal services to migrant families, told Chris Hayes of MSNBC the policy had been in effect for months, directing border agents to separate children as young as one year old from their parents.

In April, a New York Times report concluded that “more than 700 children have been taken from adults claiming to be their parents since October, including more than 100 children under the age of four”. The Times also reported that the Department of Health and Human services had lost track of almost 1,500 migrant children placed with US sponsors
after showing up at the border alone.

In a tweet on Saturday, Donald Trump, who as president guides the application of immigration laws, blamed Democrats for the separation policy.

“Put pressure on the Democrats to end the horrible law that separates children from there [sic] parents once they cross the Border into the US,” he wrote.

The reasoning by which the president held Democrats responsible for a policy announced and followed by his own administration was unclear.

And some people wonder how Trump received over 300 electoral votes.

Obviously you support this policy. Well done.

It's the same policy that's been in place well before Trump was elected President. You are just now deciding to throw a temper tantrum about it with all of the faux outrage you can muster.

Typical liberal...Wants to blame Trump, because enforcing our laws burdens the people who are doing this to themselves.

This post doesn’t belong in this thread. It makes no sense

I believe it does. He said that "typical liberals blame the president" for everything........Well, Trump blamed Obama for everything (including gas prices), so either:

1. Trump is a liberal

or

2. His theory is flawed......

Good parents would not place themselves in this position. Stay in your own country, or come to US legally. How difficult can that be?

Wants to blame Trump
I'm blaming Trump because it's his hard core policy but then he has the nerve to blame Dems for it. Such a liar. You can't make this stuff up. At a minimum he needs to step up and own it instead of always blaming others for his failures.

I approve 100% enforcement of our laws. How many children are separated from their families, daily, over enforcement of our drug laws? Welfare laws?

Whose fault is it when our laws are broken? Our president or the lawbreakers? It's definitely sad to see children separated from their parents...It's the parents' fault not Trump's.

Liberals always placing the blame where it doesn't belong and then making ridiculous accusations, such as implying that because we want our laws enforced, we support breaking families apart.

Are liberals capable of sound logic? Sometimes I wonder.

Go ahead. Blame Trump for enforcing our nation's laws. He definitely deserves the credit. I salute him!

Posts like this are exactly how people like Hitler come to power and people do not check that power and go along with human atrocities.
The irony of this is probably lost on a halfwit marshall grad who does not know what irony is.

Posts like those indicate a respect for the law and an understanding of the intent behind it. You call this “human atrocities”. You’re rebranding and denigrating established law. Moreover, you’re downplaying the upstream atrocities of human trafficking which is responsible for a lot of these individuals arriving on our borders. You’re demonizing of a law is feeding the human trafficking. You’re literally complicit in human slavery.

You support a despicable piece of **** separating mothers from children and babies. You can’t spin that to attempt to make me support human slavery.

Dipshit.

You understand the concept of supply and demand, right? By giving unfettered access to our nation, it created an endless supply of humans willing to be trafficked. You are advocating for that practice whether you realize it or not. I on the other hand and am advocating for adherence to the law. If you don’t like that law, seek to change it. It is the law and it is legal and it might stem the tide of illegals flowing north when they realize it’s not all tits and champagne. If it slows the numbers then it also slows the trafficking of humans. The latter is a good thing.

You might want to read up on what the cartels are doing to these people. You might rethink your position.
