I have too much history with this team to hope for a losing season and get pissed off when another rival puts down Kentucky. The Pope situation will work itself out either. He successful this season or he fails and we’re looking for a new coach win-win

I will never root for my team to fail. It feels so unnatural and wrong.

I am a Bengals fan and remember how dirty I felt in 2019 rooting for losses to get the pick that would eventually be Joe Burrow. I can do it with my pro teams, but I just don’t have it in me to do that with UK.
But.... Those losses helped land Burrow and they were in the Superbowl with a legit chance to win just a few years later.

If that's what it takes to get us a kick *** coach and a banner in 2 years, then I hope we lose every game this year lol. Cheering for and accepting another 14 loss season merely increases your chances of more 14 loss season in 2 years

I have tried not to feel this way but at this point, I can’t help it. Let me know if anyone else feels this way because hopefully I’m not alone.

I want to believe and have faith in this staff. I want to give them this one last chance. In my mind, I am actively rooting against the staff and I can’t stop it. I don’t want this staff to land another good recruit. I don’t want Stokes, the kid from Baylor, the kid from Iowa State none of them. I don’t want them to hit on an overseas player nothing. I do not want the staff to remotely have a chance of having a decent season. I do not want the administration to have any excuse to keep Pope and his staff for a fourth year. In my mind, I am willing to punt this season in order to get rid of Pope. I truly believe as long as he is our coach. We might have decent seasons but we will never be dominant again. That is not acceptable to me.

Please crucify me and tell me how wrong I am. Because I can’t help feeling this way.
You are not alone. A lot of us felt this way during the Joker years. Until the seats were empty (that was key) Barnhart would have kept him for years and reward his mediocrity.

This is similar to how a lot of people felt during the 10-loss-Tubby days. Many were willing to sacrifice a bad year in hopes it would send Tubby out the door. But Mitch just sat on it and let it run out for 5 years too long.

I mean in 2003 we were the over-all #1 seed and in 2004 we were a one seed and made the elite 8 both seasons. But hey, don’t let facts get in the way of attacking a guy that won huge here. It was time at the end but he left when it was time. Tubby won big here and deserves to be appreciatived.

I didn't say me. I said "a lot of people". Surely you recall all of those people sitting here begging for a bad season so Tubby would be fired? It was all the rage back then...
