I rarely ever feel the urge to post and I was as pissed as the next alum, but to read the nonsense is just to much. We as a fan base obviously have deep insecurities. The hypocrisy and fall in line negative hurd mentality is astounding.
Posters last year discussed we had the greatest talent of qbs State has ever had, but now, they are not SEC talent. Dan doesn't know how to manage them, yet history shows he knows exactly how.

We don't play underclass men is the next puzzling hurd statement. We have 14 on the two deep as underclass men. If anyone cares to research, I would say we have averaged at least 5-6 true freshmen per year, primarily at the skill positions.

Next hurd statement is Mullen has been gone since two years ago. Everyone just washes and repeats the statement as they are in the know; however, doesn't have a clue. Let's fire him and bring in a mid major coach like Freeze, who are posters are obsessed with. Let's just sanction ourselves by hiring a willing to cheat staff to prove State is a power. Hypocrisy.

I do believe without a doubt our existing/previous staff didn't work on the recruiting trail and our depth has been exposed but the Hurd is just to much to take. I'm not a sheep and don't look for silver linings to every situation, but band wagon crap is at an all time high. Let's go hire Saban.***

I think there is a subtle difference between being a douche and poking fun at the repeated misspelling of a 2nd grade level, four letter word by a person who self identifies as a university alumnus in his first sentence.

First I will say I am not for firing Mullen but all coaches have flaws. He does have some for example halftime adjustments. According to more than one state recruit in last few years we are lazy and uninterested when it comes to
recruiting. His record against the other sec west teams is awful and any other sec west coach would have been fired for that already. He's like 7 and 41 or something I think we can all agree that's not very good. He did take us to number 1 but again I think we can all agree we were never truly the number 1 team in the nation that year. Based on what happened toward the end of that year. You can bleed maroon but still admit these things are issues.

I'm far from a sheep pumping douche bag, but a realist our program is not the highly desired program coaches are just clamoring to fill, like many of the followers believe. We sucked this past weekend and there are problems; however, the fall in line destruction of our program by our own is hilarious.

Tell your parents hello in the morning when they wake you up for breakfast.

I've got no patience posting from an iPhone 5 to bother proof reading and ensuring my thoughts were grammatically correct. I expected the responses before I posted.

Tell me how we attracted an infallible, genius talent like Dan Mullen if our program is so undesirable? I'll hang up and listen.

Aries Williams- 2 carries/12 yards.

Are you curious what he could do with 15 carries/20 carries?

If you can explain to me how we attract another highly sought hire after firing our coach, who averaged 8 wins a season during his tenure. I'm all ears. I'm not saying he may not need to eventually be replaced, but the rhetoric the posters on this board repeat, is laughable at best. We have become a solid program potential hires know can win; however, it would be disastrous on a national level (media)to think our program is on the level of Georgia and I hope most here can recall 8 months ago and how that turned out.

We only need one person to think it's not crazy to take this job and it's the guy we hire. I don't care what anybody else thinks. I'm pretty sure that's what Dan Mullen was thinking when he took it. When Jackie Sherrill was hired in 1990 everyone thought we were both crazy. Fortune favors the bold. And if you think we have some kind of national reputation to protect, you didn't listen much to Chris Fowler needle us about recruits being stolen out from under our noses last night. And if this season continues on its current trajectory, you can throw that 8 wins per season out the window.

Dan is not the coach you think he is or even was when he first came to MSU.
It's all smoke and mirrors. He has beaten 1 team with a winning SEC record since he has been here and that was Arkansas last year. Let me repeat, 1 team with a winning SEC record.
He has never beaten Bama, 1 win over LSU and 1 win over A&M.
These are the facts.
After we lose to the Bears this year that will be 3 in a row, how will you feel about that.

As many losses to Sunbelt opponents as wins over +.500 SEC teams in 7+ seasons. Now that's a mark of quality if ever there was one.

Exactly thank you. His record in the sec west is god awful. I would even say this who has he beaten? An overanked am and auburn? A Michigan team that was down? Ole miss when they were in transition? A bad wake forest team? I can tell you who he has lost to 1. Bama all the time including when we thought we were number 1 and they smashed us. 2. Orange Bowl got all that hype got smashed 3. Other than once lsu has smashed him everytime 4. One win against a and m and then smashed 5. The only sec teams we can consistently beat is Missouri and Kentucky that's sad. I again am not saying fire the man I will say again. These are facts and it's easy to be emotional and say I love him our program can do no wrong and he's **** fire him. Ask your self if any other coach in the sec could have his sec win record and have a job. Maybe vandy, Kentucky, or Missouri. Lsu, bama, Tennessee, ole miss, South Carolina, Florida, auburn, a and m, Georgia, Arkansas that record over 8 years his *** is gone. Oh yeah if he had that record at any major pac 10, big twelve, or acc school he's gone. I know you
people that say he's the only choice for us and that we can't do without him think you are being loyal
to the university. What you are really doing is accepting being mediocre and calling than loyalty. If he was taking us to promised land he would have by now and we shouldn't have to accept we will
never get there for him.

Scottfield I think you picked a bad time to pour salt in this wound. We have a very passionate fan base here which is good. I don't care how you wrap it and put a pretty bow on it the fact still remains that Mullen is making elite money to lose to a sunbelt team let alone how we lost. Mullen has done some good things yes but he has seemingly lost his interest here. It's all about recruiting and that's a fact. It's also a fact that he can't and obviously doesn't want to recruit. I know if I don't perform at my job then everyone is going to be looking at me and start talking. You state that we (in your opinion) are more or less blowing this way out. I say we have the right to. When your team comes out and is blatantly unprepared to play against a sunbelt team them something is wrong.

I believe there is a reason Dan's contract wasn't renewed last season. He is now down to 3 years left to do something big. If the bears beat us again this year he will have 2 years left at most to do something.

Same 'exact' quote .. verbatim .. when we fired Stansbury .. and the ONLY person we could find was Rick Ray. How did that turn out?

That's just not true. I know for a fact that several coaches wanted the job including Kermit Davis Jr..
Scott made the hire of Ray on his own to try to clean up the program, I am not saying he was his first choice but there were better options available.

NEWSFLASH .. Exactly WHO do you think will be hiring Mullen's replacement?

Not just Scott Stricklin, like we did with Ray. Other people will be involved in all future hiring decisions after the Ray debacle.

Mullen has done good things for our program, but his time is up at MSU.
