I disagree. Sitting around like you did and allowing Hobbs to destroy this program and do nothing is not supporting the school. Supporting is what everyone did , walk , pull donations contact the powers .
You can kiss my *** with your assumption. How do you know what I did or did not do? How much have you pledged to Rutgers athletics? I don't pull donations and stamp my feet like a child when things don't go my way. The process worked out, and everyone should be happy. But the small-minded he-man club members like you now has to look for scapegoats.

I remember one guy in this thread calling me a Schiano apologist when he was here even though I support every coach who comes through here on the board even when I have doubts. This whole concept is bs to me. You come here I root for you to win.

I understand your POV. I am not a Schiano-only. I am a Rutgers-only. And, at this time, I don’t think Rutgers could attract a better HC. And I think Hobbs and the search firm tried.

And I think Schiano is incredibly motivated. Both by the incredible fan support and by his detractors.
Pretty much sums it up for me, but look out for @RUbacker ---he will accuse you of "sitting around and letting Hobbs destroy the program."

You really think that people are going to root against Greg and the team?
The only one I can think of that will do that is Eaton Beaver--did someone trap him and put him down for a while?
Maybe not root against the team, but Greg sure. The first year when things are going bad(which any coach they will) they'll be on here chirping about what a bad choice it was and a waste of money.

Unfortunately you are right. These hemorrhoids will not go away . Weird how they spend their days wishing for bad stuff to happen to RU.

They will go un-named but not un-recognized...we all know who they are.
They’re unrelenting hatred led to many epic threads.
I do not include Cali among them, unlike me he’s a loyal son who truly wants the best for Rutgers athletics, you want him on your team and in your corner.

I already know he’s rooting hard for GS to succeeded and prosper.

This post probably won’t last long, hopefully Cali reads it before it’s deleted

To be honest I didn't see trolls, I saw people who liked other candidates over Schiano. I don't think any fan is going to root against the team just because they didn't want Schiano during the search process.
We gonna get what we deserve!?

Not all of us, their were obvious trolls who will now root against us.
Their favorite team will be whoever we’re playing against.

I think that every fans base has “those” people, they come out only during the bad days.
I was a Search and See guy, if that search was Greg so be it.
I was okay with whatever demands were from agreed to secure that HC.
Well .. we got no search, but do have Greg. Right or wrong time will be the judge of that.
I’m now interested in only seeing results, let’s start Choppin!
Is it still going to be that?

There were a ton of trolls agitating during this entire process . Go look at that Eaton beaver troll as one example. I can give you many more examples.

Some people led, stepped-up, and took action and got Schiano hired. Thank goodness for those folks that had enough and got involved. There is no virtue in sitting on the sidelines and only hoping for the best.

All good baby. I may not have thought he was the only option or perhaps not even the best, but I always respected what he was able to do here. I’m behind him. He’s our coach. Let’s get this! #Chop

I always thought Cali was ok but if you look at his posts the last couple of weeks , he was total troll who relished in the turmoil. I changed my mind on him. He Spent more time attacking RU fans and posters than Hobbs and Barchi and what they were trying to do to our program .
He is a lax fan so not sure why he felt the need to troll in the first place. I think his concern is the $$ going to Football and not sports like lax which bring in zero revenue.

I’m not concerned about that now. And lax doesn’t bring in “zero revenue.”

This probably deserves its own Jeff Foxworthy style thread of, You Know You’re a Troll When....

You know you’re a troll if you’ve wrote Saint Greg more than ten times.

Also, there’s a distinction between the Schiano trolls and Rutgers trolls. I don’t see many Rutgers trolls these days, besides @RU31trap ’s latest ID. The 5 prolific Schiano trolls are who they are, and it’s obvious to most.

It’s kind of odd they still deny it, but I believe (hope) at least three of them will be on board once Coach starts winning again. One is just a lost cause.

The GS trolls are not going away. They are the same people who have been trolling the board going back well over a decade and they have a dedicated army of friends and various handles to turn to. Unfortunately this is just our society where people get their jollies by behaving that way.

Probably a good hire but remains to be seen how Greg #2 works out.

What I also observed however, is that many of the Greg supporters were also some of the biggest supporters of the Chris Ash hire and criticized many of the Rutgers fans/alums who disagreed with the hire at the time.

Good luck and hope Greg #2 is much more successful than our coach Major's #2 hire was for us.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

Certain things the trolls say give them away like what you mentioned ....saint Greg . Or he is unemployed ( they fail to mention he withdrew from the job). He has a mediocre record or he could not beat west Virginia.

So I'm a Troll who should be shamed and banished because I thought Rutgers couldve done better in searching for a new coach instead of just negotiating with Schiano? Hmmm... I guess you ignored me when I said that if they hired Schiano, so be it and let's hope that he will turn Rutgers around by keeping the Jersey kids home. I will still support Rutgers, Schiano, and the players, will still go to the games (whenever I can), and hope Rutgers and Jersey Football will finally reach Ohio State, Michigan status. And if Schiano, Part 2 is the guy who will do this, GOOD.

Now if you guys will keep up with the childish crap then hey I dont have to say a word while you sour grapes guys will say everything by your actions.

Oh well, let's move on to 2020 in getting Rutgers tonthe next level.

Believe me, I know people who never want us to win a game...like us they are completely energized by the return of GS... they can’t wait to see him lose
Those you speak of felt that way before too. It’s not just now and has nothing to do with who the new HC is.

random thoughts:

I would threaten to stop getting season tickets, but in the end, I probably would have renewed regardless of who was coach....

but, using that leverage was fair game, no shame, I would hope...

the anti-Schiano people should jump back on board, with the knowledge that Greg is prepared, will work his butt off

He could do a lot of good, by getting an innovative Offensive coord....and let him do his stuff...

also, for the Anti's....just know that the position we were in, we probably would not have gotten anyone better, that would have excited the fan base, or the eye of the recruits

not Moorhead, or the Buffalo coach, or the army coach....

big yawns that would have started way behind where Greg will start.

someone was asking for a coach with a higher ceiling.... I don't see that at all

ru66 is probably puking all morning with the overnight news. [sick]
you are an ***--I've actually personally have known the Schiano family for years and supported him being hired and wanted him to stay in the first place --being concerned about the funding is something those that never really give in a material way can't seem to understand, guys like you that just talk and ***** and do nothing are a real problem and one of the reasons we almost didn't get the guy--believe me it wasn't all hobbs it was the BOG doing it's stewardship about $ and I'm still waiting for NJ and the gov to pledge $ to the FB build

by the way, I have always felt the first priority is to root for the uniform and not those wearing it---and guess what whoever RU hired I would support , root for their success and still give handsomely--want to call out "fans" try those that had expressed Schiano or the highway--like I quoted from that commissioner coach----“One thing I would make clear is, at the end of the day, we always have and always will, and I always have and always will, support Rutgers football. We are always going to support Rutgers," Jacob said. "No matter who the coach is, we are going to support them. It’s just I feel the way a lot of other people feel in that the situation backed itself into a corner. some of you should take that to heart, most do but some just want their choice to win out even if it would hurt RU

Cali, if you had to guess, will the new indoor football practice facility be where The Bubble is or do you think it will be built somewhere else and The Bubble will be used by lacrosse, field hockey, track, soccer, etc.?

I think you should await hearing about the details of shiano's contract before assuming the build is a go
