311 had Omaha Stylee.

Wow. I did not know about all of these except Springsteen.

The song that made me think of this question has to be one of the greatest ballads ever written and performed.

Released in 1975. ??

TURN THE PAGE - Bob Seger

The other two I thought of

Charley Daniels - 'Uneasy Rider'

" ….I think I'm gonna re-route my trip
I wonder if anybody'd think I'd flipped
If I went to LA via Omaha!"

Michael Murphy - 'Wildfire'

"She comes down from Yellow Mountain
On a dark, flat land she rides
On a pony she named Wildfire
With a whirlwind by her side
On a cold Nebraska night"

Mmm saddle creek records anyone?

Conor Oberst punk group Desparecidos had the song greater Omaha.

Bright eyes - Theme from Piñata lyric about winter in Omaha

And I’m sure if you dig through an album from either Cursive, Hop Along, Rilo Kiley, Big Thief, the faint, and countless other saddle creek bands you’d find a song or two that reference Omaha. None just come to mind.

Very happy to see Saddle creek getting new life with Hop Along and Big Thief now on the labels.
