Trickle down economics, seeming more like a waterfall

I’d love to see the full list of companies who’ve chosen to trickle down their tax savings to their employees. Curious how much money we’re actually talking about flowing to the American people and number of people affected positively by it.

Verizon and Disney today. We’ve seen Amazon and Apple in the last week or so I believe. Have to be talking about several million people and several hundred billion dollars.

Is there someone actually tracking all of this?

No...because it exposes the Leftist lies that companies wouldn't pass their tax savings on to workers. Know what though, no Leftist income redistribution types are giving any of their bonuses over to the Government to redistribute or to any poor Family in need. Wonder why not? Don't they believe in equal redistribution of incomes?

Another very much overlooked aspect of this economic boom is the reality that it is reaching deep into Minority communities Democrats need if they are to reclaim power in '18. By more than 2-to-1, Blacks favor toughening up our immigration laws and deporting illegals.

Why?

Because it means more avaialble jobs for them! As this economy continues to expand, less competition for entry level jobs from illegals means more Blacks are able to find work. Democrats are essentially trading one minority group for another by pushing for amnesty and open borders for illegal ailiens over the objections of Blacks who need more jobs and want to run their own businesses in their own communities.

Trump's boom is taking root with more and more Blacks. His community outreach program to revitalize inner cities is also set to explode with lower taxes for both entrepreneurs and investors, and if Trump can manage to cut Black support for Democrats just by 10-to-15%, the Left will suddenly loose what has been its most reliably consistent block of voters for decades and they won't win another close election again if that ever happens. Trump knows this. Democrats do too, which is why they are fighting him so hard to stop enterprise zones in inner cities. Who are the racists?

Black unemployment is the lowest its been since the early 70's (when the Labor department first started measuring this) and Black median incomes have risen dramatically over the past year. Media of course ignores all of this, but the money Blacks are now making under the Trump boom is real and Blacks are not stupid nor ideological in their voting. Show us the money... Go Trump!

Which unemployment rates are we using? The ones that you all said under Obama were not trustworthy because they didn't take in to account everything? Or are you using those because they fit your agenda?

BLS (Bureau of labor statistics) ADP payroll survey, Standard and Poor's statistical labor pool vs available employer job postings survey, Manpower employment analysis, the Cato institute survey on jobs & the economy, CNBC workforce assessment.

The IRS.

I would bet the WH is tracking, and WSJ, BI, Economist, etc. Not to mention all of the think tanks. I think the repatriation tax changes have a chance to be the most substantial part of the Trump's tenure, at least in the short term. Hopefully companies ACTUALLY invest in projects on the homefront and not just buy back their own stock.

I've always been consistent in my parameters. @WVUCOOPER doesn't like work force participation rate but I think it's a better parameter than how a governemnt can manipulate the UR to suit it's wants.

The cEO's aren't stupid. They know that if they don't give money to their employees, they will not look good. Best way to keep those corporate taxes low is to be good corporate citizens.

I just think the WFPR is past its usefulness. We are a wealthier, aging country where everyone goes to college. It's a **** metric and one that has not improved at all under Trump.

Bank rate monitor's payroll survey is probably the most accurate guage because it measures who is getting paid and in what amounts. No fooling actual paychecks!

We can't be afraid to get tough with some nations and may need to consider tariffs. One potential outcome could be a shift for manufacturers to start producing more in the states than overseas.

I'm in favor of a blanket tariff instead of selective tariffs. Protect American businesses and jobs and all that jazz.

Give it time......then judge it's success (or failure).........just like under Reagan, people boasted about job and wage increases, but 70% of those jobs were lower wage service personnel. Manufacturing and mining took a big hit in the 80's.........your higher paying wage jobs.

Yeah nobody looks back at history and thinks the 80's were a prosperous time.

The most likely outcome is an increase in prices to the consumer and a decrease in demand. As it has always been throughout time on every tariff. Intentions are great, but it doesn’t work.

In the case of the tariff about to be slapped on solar panels, it's the workers at companies that install them who'll be hurt the worst. If companies can't afford to buy the panels, they'll start cutting workers. If Trump wanted to help American companies and workers he could restore subsidies to the companies that made solar panels here at home. Also, the WTO almost invariably shoots down tariffs of this type when the target country brings a case -- not that it will matter to Mr. President America First ... I expect him to ignore any WTO ruling against him or simply pull the U.S. out of it.

Tariffs have worked in the past. The problem usually came from the selected application of tariffs on specific goods which led to cronyism. "Free trade" propagandists have been very effective at removing this from the American consciousness.

Did I say that? Nope..........but his economic policies weren't 100% hunky-dory for everyone.......again, ask miners and manufacturing.

Indeed, Google "Reagan recession" and see what inflation, unemployment, interest rates, etc., were like in Reagan's first term. West Virginia had the highest UE rate in the nation for much of that period.

Google Carter, I started private practice in 1980. You have no idea how bad things had gotten from Nixon, Ford and Carter.

You are a complete moron if you think that reagan had anything to do with the economic conditions that were prevelant in 1979-1983. Congress fought tooth and nail to not get the economy going. No tax relief at all.
