NO ONE said he can't make mistakes. I'm sure he'd be the first one to tell you he's made plenty. The only issue here is your saying TT should be getting more PT regardless of what he's done in the program up until now because of his ranking. Pretty much everyone here (including the coaching staff) disagrees with your assessment.
Glad you're the voice of everyone, coach included! I'm sure I'm not the only who agrees with the sentiment that it would be nice to see more of Trey T. He was coach Mac's first real recruiting win and would be awesome to see him flourish.

I very strongly feel that we have a highly competent coach in Ben and trust him and his staff to evaluate the players and make decisions about playing time. You have made it pretty clear that you dislike Joey Matteoni for whatever reason which seems related to wanting to see more of Thompson.

Your just making stuff up and deflecting, because its obvious that pretty much everyone here understands that Ben knows what he's doing, and yet for some reason, you've chosen this hill to die on. He'll play when Ben thinks he should play. Not sure what that has to do with me pointed that out. Its not like I'm the one keeping him from playing.

Lol did not say that but good try. I'm saying more highly touted players get more slack and more opportunities. That happens across the board in all of athletics, that's not a secret. Lets not get too deep into this, I think he's the best college coach around but you would be ignorant to think he's immune to making a wrong decision.
Ben don't give no "slack" you earn it, playing time. You should have learned that by now in the hundreds of interviews and in game commitments he's made.

I’m fine if he’s not ready for minutes early or against bigger matchups, but don’t understand the idea of not moving to the bench more when the game is in control which was at 10 mins left about. And with Ben open idea of playing position less typically excluding the 1 or 5, I think Thompson or Harris could have put in some work to have tape on what they’re not doing right to earn the minutes when it matters. Howard defense can be great but not exactly impressed with his offense and if Sage doesn’t take the next step, it’s helpful to push these bench guys development when games allow it.

Ben multiple times made statements about wishing he’s got other bench players more minutes in the past and just be nice to see the awareness to adjust this in some matchups. We all don’t expect Peyton to be doing this against creighton but he got his minutes.

One of the thoughts I had at the end of the game is there isn’t a single player on the floor who looks like they don’t have a clue and aren’t ready to play at this level. Not one. Sure, there were plenty of f#ckups, but every player on the floor played with confidence, moved and passed with a purpose, and knew what they were doing or supposed to be doing on defense. That is a sharp contrast from Fran teams, as too many kids under his watch got thrown out to the wolves well before they were ready, and I believe it f#cked a lot of kids up for the rest of their Iowa careers.

The point?

Ben knows WTF he is doing. Some of you need to chill.

Well I get the competition was inferior but in 13 minutes Thompson had 11 points, 2 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, and was 3-5 from three. Also thought he looked good on both ends of the floor. Hopefully he keeps earning some minutes going forward.
Well, look at it this way: If Thompson is ready, he will see the floor. And he won’t have to worry about getting buried on the bench by “Patty Mac” or some sh*t.

I agree, and just to clarify I’m 100 % behind Ben’s decisions the guy can flat coach. What I was trying to say is I was encouraged from what I saw from Thompson. Had to do a lot for his confidence as well. And to your point Ben is going to put the best team on the floor.

I'm going to bet that PM does in fact stay in the rotation and play fairly well. We'll see.....

I'd agree, TT looked solid. The only thing I'd add is its ALOT less pressure when you come in and the team is up 25-30 points and your smothering them on defense.

Oh for sure, gotta start somewhere I reckon, potential is definitely there. Be curious to see how he progresses, this team definitely has some pieces to work with.

Thompson actually had 3 assists. Scorers table totally missed his 3rd. It was the steal by Matteoni over to Thompson and then he found cutting Koch for layup.

1st assist was the skip pass to McCollum for 3
2nd assist was the alley-oop to Coon
