Put your money where your mouth is. Straight up bet. Nebraska vs Creighton next year. Hell you’ll get home court advantage which is worth a hell of a lot in college basketball.
and I don’t think Creighton is a UK, KU, Duke, & NC type of program. But next year, they are probably higher ranked to start the season then all of those blue bloods . That’s not me being bias, that’s what many project. Granted this all is contingent on what Big AL does in the draft, but I have. Hunch he’ll be playing for the Jays.
It doesn’t sound likely that Alexander is returning. And if that’s that case they won’t be ranked higher than any of those teams. NBC sports updated their pre season rating today and put Creighton #19.
I wouldn’t make any prediction on Nebraska next year. The talent has been upgraded. But until you see them on the court nobody knows what the team will look like.
like the poster below (and above my post here) said, I’m not proclaiming the Huskers to be great or anything like that till I see them play. Hoiberg has definitely upgraded the team and one things for sure, we (sorry us actual HUSKERS) should be better. But no where in there did I try and say the Huskers would be better then Creighton. Just saying your Bluejays won’t be as good as you’re making them out to be.
Now my actual point was Creighton isn’t UNC, Duke, Kansas or Kentucky and they still won’t be next year. And they aren’t even close and I’m pretty sure those blue blood team will more then likely be ranked a above Top 19...so doubtful Creighton will be ranked above them or any of them.

Not a Creighton fan but they will, unquestionably, open the season in the top 5. And they should.
It’s possible. Here’s the ones I just seen, NBCs to early Top 25...and they are even below Iowa...lol

Every player who started a game for Creighton this past season was projected to return - but that changed when Ty-Shon Alexander, the Bluejays' leading scorer, announced his intention to enter the NBA Draft and remain in it. That's a big blow. But Greg McDermott is still bringing back four starters from a team that was the No. 1 seed in the Big East Tournament mostly because of an offense that ranked third nationally in efficiency. So the Bluejays should be really good again and a possible candidate to make the Final Four for the first time in school history.

ACC fan here who have seen both Oconnell and McGowan up close. Oconnell would fit better at Creighton and Mcgowens better at Nebraska.
That said Mcgowens is easily a better overall player imo. Better defender and scorer and similar shooter.

I just don’t see Alexander getting drafted. He’s a little small and I haven’t really seen a mock draft with him picked.I haven’t herd him signing with an agent yet so there’s still a shot he comes back to Omaha. Best year to enter the draft early without an agent.
but yeah, if he doesn’t come back it’s going to be a blow to the type of team the Jays could have. But they’ll still have a really good team regardless. Creighton wasn’t built on just “one guy” this season. So they’ll still be very good next year, just not a top 5 type of team.

I read the World-Herald articles about Alexander and I'm not sure why the Omaha media is so convinced he won't be back. It's like they expected him to say, "Yeah I'm just sticking my toe in the draft pool but I'll probably be back next season."
What player is going to do that? You have to have some confidence in your draft status, or why enter your name at all?
Alexander seems like he's right on the fringe of the draft, so without a combine he probably just has to hope he's caught the right GM's eye who's looking for that type of player in the mid-to-late second round.
As for next year's Creighton team, I like their chances of being in the Top 15-20 range but will be surprised to see them finish higher than that. I know they have a lot of talent coming back, but it's still not easy to put together back-to-back seasons like they had this past year.
