"A big blow for the Jets"

Actually, I think it might be a blessing in disguise.

The Jets and their fans are gonna be surprised to learn how accurate he is. Here's hoping the Jets' OL can protect him. If so, they can WIN! What an opportunity for Trevor. I NEVER thought I would ever say, "GO JETS!", but GO JETS!

Here's hoping Darnold recovers quickly to play against the Pats. But the Jets will likely want him to sit out that game.

It will be interesting to see what Trevor can do with a halfway decent OL. I think he is still the last Dever starting QB with a career winning record for the Broncs......

And Elway is going with Joe Flacco at QB! The guy's a statue back there which will become painfully obvious Sunday vs. the Bears. Shudda stuck with Trevor, John. I see you released Lynch too after selecting him in round one just a few years ago.

Bizarre that the headline is about "saving the season" after 1 game of 16.

Even if Gang Green had beat Buffalo, they'd be facing a heck of a run of opponents after CLE. Just dumb to be talking about saving a season after 1 game.

Hasn't stopped some around here after one Northwestern game...

Referring to the Jets O-line as being halfway-decent is being generous.

Darnold being out is fortuitous (for him), b/c whoever was going to be behind center for the Jets over the course of the next 6 games (CLE, NE, Philly, Dallas, NE, JAX) is going to take a beating.

Add to that the Jets already being down on talent (esp. on the O-side) made worse by one of their starting receivers being out for the season (don't really a have a true #1 WR), their only NFL caliber TE won't be back from suspension til the Jag game, the starting LT is a question mark to play Monday and Bell is banged up (hurt shoulder).

The Jets D wasn't the same once Mosley got hurt and doubt that he'll be ready to play against the Browns (Williams is also hurt), so that puts even more pressure on the O to do score points.

In terms of talent level surrounding him, this may be as bad as Trevor had it during his Denver days (plus, a new scheme where he has only taken back-up snaps).

But still, it's a good opportunity for him (as long as he can stay healthy) to play well enough (not expecting too many wins) to garner a nice, longer contract as a back-up or maybe even as a place-holder starter (that's $15-18 mil for a yr.).

Gase is going to have to call a better game than he did against the Bills.

There are a decent # of Jets fans who think the move to Siemian is a lateral move or isn't too much of a downgrade (Darnold has the better physical tools, but Trevor has the edge in experience), but the rest of the team isn't in great shape (due to the lack of talent overall made worse by injuries).

Would have been better for Trevor if he had been the back-up for JAX.

Thanks for preparing us with the fan view, Katatonic.

The worst news is that there is no star WR on the Jets. The best news is that TS has experience behind iffy OLs at Denver.

But TS brings accuracy to the game and it could lift the Jets O.

HOFer Sonny Jurgensen might have said he had to learn to pass running backwards at Washington. Ultimately he became known there for his quick release.

Well, the rest of the Jets fanbase (seemingly the majority) think Trevor is a bum and think the season is over.

The thing that they didn't know was that after the loss to the Bills, the season was already pretty much over (the Jets simply don't have the talent on O and in the secondary; plus all the injuries and suspensions early on hasn't helped).

Siemian needs to get rid of the ball and not hold on to it looking for a play downfield (who cares if the fans lament the dink and dunk approach?), unless the pass rush is slowed down via PA or a roll-out.

Trevor needs to stay healthy for the next play, the next series, the next half and the next game - and he's playing for his next contract.

The other good thing about this is that Wilbon, once again, gets to throw his love for the 'Cats in the face of the PTI viewers.

And Trevor back at the podium, answering reporters questions w/o really telling them anything important.

Nice to see the Jets acquired Demaryius Thomas; he and Trev have some familiarity from there time together in Denver.

It's been so great to watch mile high report implode the past couple years. The fans treated Trevor like crap and it turns out he was better than Lynch and Keenum

Keenum has done alright since leaving the mess the Broncos have on O (and the Broncos supposedly have an improved O-line and a better OC/scheme this season).

601 yds and 5 TDs in 2 games w/o any real help from the run game.

Flacco has 1 TD in a game and a half and basically has had to resort to dinking and dunking (something the Broncos fans incessantly attacked Trevor for).
