So did Trev share with KETV all of these texts?

It must've been, right? If so, kind of a ***** move.

Zero surprise to hear NU leadership is a bunch of spineless dirty-kneed no dignity having cucks

Pathetic

Basically poor leadership at all levels - shocking ha ha. The same theme for twenty years now.

Leadership or structure?

Guess this dispels many of the rumored reasons on here.

I truly believe Trev loves Nebraska but at the same time wasn’t willing to serve in the current structure.

I wish we could have kept him. From the emails it is evident he was well liked and respected, which are huge traits.

I was thinking - isn't it normal to try to retain talented staff if you think they're leaving? Then I read the texts...yikes.

The first guy wasn't bad. Then Tim Clare...whoa. That was...

And then Pillen...like WTF dude maybe you could proofread your text and show the person that what you're saying is important?

Cringe-inducing

Either way, Trev has done nothing of note as an AD at a high level. TAMU will never come close to winning the SEC during his tenure.

Many of you would be wise to remember that these things happen quick, and no amount of prior lip service translates to anything more than that.

Win games or fück off.

Very clear that had he stayed he could have dictated any terms he wanted in terms of both leadership structure and salary. And he basically gave the cold shoulder to all of these texts. To me it is clear that his departure had only a little to do with leadership. Because if his heart and soul really did bleed Red then his position in the catbird seat would have compelled him to stay. He knew the leadership void would not last forever.

He left because he wanted to pad and diversify his resume. He is looking for much bigger career goals. But you can’t just come out and say, “Hey everyone, I am ambitious and want to be a conference commissioner someday. I will use Texas A & M as a stepping stone to bigger things.”
Nope. You blather on instead with euphemisms about “vision” and “leadership”.

We were played. So be it. It happens all the time and you cannot fault a guy for ambition. So it is time to move on. I like the new guy a lot.

Agree, but TA did leave NU better than he found it and that’s worth something. He got Rhule here, didn’t hire Mickey like a lot of folks thought he might, stayed the course with Fred. We could be in a lot worse shape if Bill moos was still in charge.

These texts were personal and between professional friends. Sometimes you are texting in between conversations and other responsibilities. I have several texts where I know they aren’t great but whatever my point gets across.

How would these have been leaked? That’s more concerning than the grammar element.

As was pointed out above, release of the texts may have been via Freedom of Information Act. Who knows.....

Very very well said.

I’m sure we were his favorite football program. But he loves Trev far more than he loves the Huskers. And that’s not a leader that’s going to

1. Put the greater goals above himself
2. Stay for an extended period of time.

Compare that to TO taking a nominal
Salary so his assistants could get paid more. There is a difference there in priority.

I get why this is a thing BUT clearly there needs to be some common sense applied. Some OPS superintended got nailed for "sexting" her boyfriend because of this act (I think), I mean, come on. That is not a ******* crime, there is nothing wrong with that.

Very well put. Trev has personal self advancement goals that didn't include staying at UNL long term. Good luck to him achieving them. It will be interesting to see how he deals with the big boosters there telling him what he is going to do with the money they contribute. I would like to wager on the over/under of how long he is in College Station. The A&M faithful weren't exactly popping champagne corks when he was announced as their new AD.

A&M should be used to being disappointed by now.

Came here for commentary and noticed wasn’t posted yet (that I could see). Paying back in the spirit of HBK and posting. I don’t really care that Trev is gone and am happy with Troy. I do find the released texts interesting. Pretty equally sad leadership let it get to that point and that Trev also turned his back. Regardless - GBR
When one looks at the make up of the Board of Regents that will answer a lot of questions.

Wait - all Trev is doing is advancing his personal career? That is THE explanation? But yet he stayed at UNO like 12 years and is being paid approximately the same salary at TAM? What am I missing?

I’ve known Pillen since college. In person he has always spoken with perfect grammar. He’s an extremely intelligent guy.

Career plans and goals change especially if you have kids. I imagine Trev as an empty nester now?
