Curious whether most of you think he will simply shoot his way out of it, or we will see his PT decline in favor of other combinations?? I really like Gary. They did a cool feature on him on a Coach K show, and he seems like a wonderful kid.

If he doesnt progress, I can't see his pro stock being high next year. Might he return to Durham if things dont improve? Hope all of you got plenty of turkey yesterday and enjoyed a wonderful day w/family! OFC

I don't know anything about his high school game, really. From what I hear, he's actually a decent shooter/scorer and just in a slump. I hope he breaks out of it soon, and I wonder if he's just taking more time to adjust to the college game. He was noticeably off during the MSU game and hasn't performed as well as people say he's capable of since then. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to write him off or anything. I've heard nothing but good things about him, and it can certainly take some kids longer to adjust.

Gary’s stroke is no worse than Tre’s. He just needs to bring it on defense and rebounding, and the rest will come.

He has brought other aspects. He’s been playing most team’s best offensive players and has been awesome in ball control against the press. He’s obviously just in a slump.

Let’s not forget what we saw out of him the first five games of the season prior to MSU (counting exhibitions and CTC). He shot well from three and showed a decent mid-range game. Aside from that, early on he rebounded well (see: 10 vs. Southern) and affected the game positively outside of shooting.

K has implored him to drive more and you can see he’s starting to take those opportunities. I think that’s where he’ll start to get his shot back as he drives and gets to the line. Aside from the supreme leaping ability, he has been reminding me of Gerald Henderson, who also took some time to learn the speed of the college three.

Gary is an excellent shooter off the move and when it clicks from the kick out we won’t be calling for a minutes decline.

Gary is a really, really good shooter who right now is in a pretty big slump. If he wasn’t doing other things I’d be more worried, but he’s still contributing despite the shooting woes. What I’ve loved most is that his confidence isn’t wavering. Eventually he’ll come out of it. What has been nice in all of this has been the emergence of Alex.

I wouldn't pull the plug on Trent just yet, he is just struggling a little. Everyone seems to be having their moments, it's just part of the process of playing on a very young team trying to find it's way. All this talent is great, but it will take a little time to gel. K will mold them into a well oiled team if they just stay the course, and Trent will be fine.
Go Duke!

I love how the bench is being used. I’m not sure last season that Alex or Jordan would see the floor.

Really love this facet. I know we get on the G.O.A.T far too much for the short bench, but hes really giving players time this year who are earning it. OFC

Yea I'd like to see Trent drive a little more get some easy baskets. He's hitting his free throws and doing everything else.

With as many bigs as we have along with Trevon's lack of jump shot teams are keying more on Allen and Trent when shooting the three. Lately, Trevon is looking more to drive and dish to Bagley or Carter Jr. In low post or score than kick out to Allen or Carter.

Trent Jr has a better mid range game than anyone on the team. He is more of a Freshman Kennard with more strength.

I thought about freshman Kennard when thinking of Trent, Jr. as well. The difference, huge difference is defense. That’s why I thought of G.

I agree. I have only seen Grayson drive and kick out to a shooter. It will help, to see either Duval or Trent occasionally kick it to him. After all he is our best shooter.
