By my count, the SEC took 26 of the ESPN 100, and four of the top ten, if you include Diallo. That seems like a lot for a "football conference."

Even if you remove the 8 UK recruits, that is still pretty impressive. 18 top 100 guys. 11 of the 14 teams grabbed at least one top 100 player.

Mizzou- 3
UF- 3
Bama- 2
LSU- 2
Arky- 2
Aub- 2
MSU- 1
UGA- 1
A&M- 1
Ole Miss- 1

(Note: Mizzou could get a fourth top 100, if Jontay Porter is able to reclassify.)

That and the returning talent should make for a much more competitive league. Just have to hope these teams can take care of business in the out of conference schedule so their RPI's aren't atrocious.

I can't say how this year stacks up against some of the past. But we've seen SEC have excellent recruiting hauls. Only to do nothing with it because of piss-poor coaching and schools that really don't seem to care much about basketball.

I like some of the recent coaching moves the SEC made, but I need to see more. SEC has had excellent recruiting classes very recently.
