Any estimates on tree limbing by the hour?
Would require a bucket truck.

Need some pine trees limbed you to abt 50 ft max.
Abt 100 trees.
Trying to open it up underneath to clean out and make look good.

Well, it cost me $600 recently to have one oak limbed in my yard. Took the guy about an hour. One more for cleanup. Yeah, I paid too much. But he was the 12th guy I had called with only two others even answering the phone. Lots of jacklegs, *******, and addicts in that business I guess. And my guy didn't need a bucket truck.

So say $200 a tree, you are looking at $20,000. That's my guess.

It's kinda like the guy who mows your 5000 sq foot lawn in 30 minutes and charges $60 each time. I guess they must've gone to med school and graduated. Fair market value I suppose.

Dang, 50 ft. is hella the way up to trim trees. You going for the silvopasture look?

I'm about to buy a cheap corded 9 ft. pole saw to clean up some big old trees around the yard. With a step ladder I should get about 20 ft. up.

If the ground is flat and easily accessible, you may want to rent a pull behind lift.

100 trees, 50 ft up. That’s an incredible amount of work. What are you going for?

Where you live would help. I know a couple guys in east central MS, but you don't want to pay travel on top of cost. The reputable ones come and give you a bid for the work.

I was golfing with a guy I didn’t know one time, and he lit up a joint. He looked at me and said, “don’t worry, it’s just regular stuff, not medical grade.” He didn’t have the medical grade with him, this was just his regular stuff he smokes while working. He later explains he climbs trees with a chainsaw and trims limbs for a living. I said good thing you just smoke regular weed while using the chainsaw.

I think Mobile Bay's $200 a tree is about as close as you can get based on the info provided. An hourly rate would have to include equipment, and that's hard to establish with the limited info.

I have lurked on this site and learned a few things:

It takes a certain type to wear a chainsaw on your belt, I guess. I've watched a few do some amazing stuff before.

How damned old are your trees? Mine are 80 years old and are about 70 feet tall. My pine trees trim themselves; they lose limbs as needed.

I hired a skid steer with a forestry mulcher to get rid of the under growth. Cost me 850$ for about an acre.

A month or so ago, my backyard neighbor had three poplar trees cut down - each was over 100 feet tall. There were three Mexican immigrants doing the work, and seemed to be happy as a lark climbing up and limbing/topping the trees. They did a good job and pretty quickly. That was never something I saw as my dream job.
