Isn't it like close to or over 2000? Which is insane.
I wouldn't mind a player like Reeves or even Ryan Young here next year. We had the luxury this year of having 3 centers and one dealing with an injury. So, we may need a 3rd center next year only having Maliq and Patrick.

I'm completely fine that Reeves left if it led to us landing Maliq Brown.
At the beginning of last offseason, Jon had a sit down with every player, and basically told them the plan for the next season and that it may be in their best interest to transfer. (I'm paraphrasing, but it makes sense)
I think the combo of Ngongba/Brown and then Cam Boozer is more than enough inside. But in today's game of roster building and the portal, why not add a 3rd center just in case of injury? The best of the best can stack their roster.
I ageee with Bull - I think you need a rim protector, lob threat who can play into switches.
I thought Reeves looked decent against Duke, so a player like him would a nice luxury in case Maliq's arm keeps popping out.
Christian and others must be patient with development. I do not know the details of the conversations, but I can tell you Christian would have benefitted from those practices.
Read that the Top 10 transfers are asking $2.5-3M in NIL...
1.5 is the highest I’ve read so far and that was Louis Jr from St.Johns .
It would be nice to hang onto our guys, bring in one big guard and another big. Probably pie in the sky, but I'll keep dreaming.
I just want to win #6 and not worry about this next Tuesday while we celebrate history being made.
It will be interesting after last year. How will guys like Foster, Pat and even Evans feel if they are recruited over? Jon has shown he is not afraid to upgrade.
Best case scenario, Duke wins it all on Monday night. If this happens, I think this is what the 2025-2026 Blue Devils will look like

SG - Proctor (will declare for the draft while keeping his eligibility open, if he doesn’t receive promising feedback at the combine meaning 1st round guarantee then he comes back)/Evans/Harris/Cayden Boozer

Bench:
PF/C - Brown
SG - Harris
PF/SF - Khamenia
SF - Henderson
PG/SG - Cayden Boozer

Brown is starting if he returns . He the best defensive player on the squad next season and at the moment only one coming close might be Cameron and maybe Henderson. I expect some roster turnover over to the portal .
I agree with @bleediteveryday30 that I am trying to not worry about next season yet.
Having said that, the job of a coach is to find the best (that fit) into his team. The role of the existing player is to make sure the coach can’t find anyone better than him.

Can Cameron Boozer play the 3? To go along with Brown at the 4 and Ngongba at the 5?

After watching the McDonald's game last night, he could against bad teams, but we won't ever play the 3 for us. He is big and strong, his shot looks good but he isn't a 3. He is the prototypical college 4 man, old-school game: strong and draws a lot of fouls, cuts well, has some really good ball fakes. Hit FT stroke looked great, gets a lot of arch on the ball like Cooper does.
Just read that Tom Izzo referred to the Portal as "The Urinal." I always did like Izzo.

He's 100% correct...the amount of players going into it is insane...no coach can plan a roster at this point...and the feckless NCAA can or is doing nothing about it. I think Izzo hangs it up...and maybe a few other long tenured coaches.

Would love Proctor back but think he is 3 and done. Jon getting emotional talking about him was a big clue.
I think the more games we win this season, the less likely we see a senior Proctor, and I am oaky with that.
Projecting future rosters in todays era is about as easy finding a needle in a haystack.
I think the #1 goal this offseason is to bring Proctor, Evans, Brown, and Ngongba back. Getting 3 outta 4 back would be great.
We have a few top recruits coming in and I expect us to pick up some veterans in the portal. I predict we will have a few transfers out too, nothing is a guarantee these days. For example, will Ngongba really want to be a backup to Brown next year??? Pat would start for 98% of D1 rosters right now.
But lets win #6 and who cares about the offseason.

no idea who’s stays and goes but both Boozers are starting. That I know.
I doubt I’m the only one to think this but I’m not sure we will realistically see a better team than this one for a while. (Doesn’t mean we won’t have a chance to win a ship next year but this team is special ) One more w and we will get to watch this group the maximum possible amount of times.

I don’t know about that . Should Foster or Evans return they slide into the 2/3 and combo slot with Foster . What if Proctor returns ? Henderson is starting I’d bank on that . Cameron and one of Brown or Big Pat . Duke is actively looking for a pg in the portal .
Not to dunk on Foster but is Foster or Boozer a starting PG on a final four team? This year we have Proctor and Sion. Think Jon gets 1 or 2 portal guards if Proctor leaves. It is very likely we lose all 5 starters.
If we score a pg in the portal I think you still move Evans or Foster to the sg spot as a combo guard . If Cayden starts it’s because both bolted to the portal and Duke didn’t get a starting caliber pg .
If the starting spot is Cayden’s then you loose Evans, Foster and Harris to the portal . Imo
