And…. Who cares? I used to pull for Duke players to do well in the NBA, but now? This is silly to even worry about who goes where. Cam Boozer was here for a few months. Great. Pick up your check and move on. Cool.
Yeah, I greatly appreciate the one season out of him at Duke, but I could care less what pro team any of them go to.

It was a business transaction nothing more less. He used Duke. Duke used him.
It’s ok for just a fan to care KD

I agree. To each his own. The NBA’s not my thing. Huge Lakers Fan back in the 80s and 00s. Last twenty years has lost me. Don’t like this jack up threes/ no defense basketball
Grant Hill/ Laettner/ Dawkins Billy King all those guys were like family members. These guys are here for a few months. Are they even enrolled in school? What classes are they taking? Does anyone even pretend that they care anymore?

I should add I don’t disagree with you on any of this.

I’ve not watched a complete NBA game since the 70s, but to answer the question of who cares… lots and lots of people is the answer.

Evans was almost 3 inches taller and when he was hot, he was hot. But I do think Blackwell will be the better college player in terms of purely getting buckets. If he is as advertised, he raises our ceiling considerably. Have to imagine he will be our 1st or at worst, 2nd option.

The way Jon built this team is look to go inside out . Teams will zero in on Blackwell like they did Evans . However Duke’s ability to penetrate to the rim this up coming season is different then seasons past . I’d look for Duke to have at least three double digit scorers constantly.

I think the team coming up will not have a front runner for Player of the Year, but will be very balanced. Which might just make Duke even more dangerous.

As long as he gets open he definitely will. However if he becomes Dukes main scoring threat I don’t think he will . The more the other guards and bigs can score at will around the basket the better his shot becomes available around the arch . This Duke team imo will not rely heavily on the three. It will be around the basket and the free throw line . Blackwell doesn’t need to end up being hounded like Evans was . He simply just needs to hit his shots when they are there .

I think we'll still shoot a lot of 3s. There's every reason to expect Dame, Cayden, and Caleb to get better there. Blackwell, Rippey, Wilkins, Howard, & Cam all have potential from behind the arc, too, and if Boumtje-Boumtje sees the floor, he shoots 3s, too.

Agree that we shouldn't rely too heavily on Blackwell. Having a single guy to look to like that is inevitable when it's Cooper Flagg or Cam Boozer, but ideally there is some balance. Blackwell may lead us in scoring, but he can't be as heavy-use as Cam was this season.

I agree with all said. I just need Blackwell to hit the kick out open three’s . I can see Duke attacking the paint a lot more than in years past allowing for open shooters to shoot.
