Yeah a lot will happen between now and October but Kansas, Kentucky and especially the cheats have weak rosters. At least on paper but those three might not even be preseason top 25.

I just went to the Carolina board and my god. I’ve never read so much drivel in my life. Apparently 08, 12 and 16 UNC all would have run the Flagg led Duke team off the court. And after repeatedly saying last year’s Duke team was not talented, this years team is apparently the worst of the last 3. Most of the posters are likely kids but JC.

I thought they’d go for experience but I wonder if this is partly to keep CW happy. If they brought in a Graves, CW isn’t starting. With this guy, CW starts and JBB can come in either at the 4 or 5.

Duke is still watching what Graves is going to do but nothing wrong with bringing in a 6’11” shooter coming off the bench . Big Pat will be good however Duke has saw what limited depth in the front court can do . Don’t forget JBB will have to stay in college for two years . What’s not to say Duke doesn’t put an over large front court from the 3-5 on the court like Florida has done ?

Agreed but will say KY fans have a healthy respect for Duke. Especially when K was coaching. They know what Duke is and that they’ve had their number. UNC fans don’t seem to realize where they are currently in the CBB landscape.
Yes but according to most Malone is their savior . I asked a true Tarheel fan this the other day, “ If Malone and Joker were so close are you telling me the best player at his position at the time of his firing said he wanted him to stay, Denver wouldn’t keep him? “ yet they let him go and Joker still signed an extension? . He replied,” good point !

I’m all for the front court depth. I don’t trust Pat’s foot. My feeling is Jon plans to give Pat plenty of rest during the reg season to preserve him for the tourney. He’ll be able to do that with all this depth. I think Duke is again head and shoulders above everyone in the ACC so hopefully that allows Jon the chance to get some of these guys off their feet.

you think they’d still bring in Graves if they got this guy?

Deep down all these clowns from other fanbases know Duke is going to get one again sooner rather than later. They lost the last two years by fluke, unfathomable nonsense. It’s not like Jon is taking these great teams with superior talent and then get their doors blown off, like say 08 Carolina that got their **** pushed in by Kansas and 16 Carolina with fat Meeks in the post.

Kentucky fans have zero respect for Duke and are without a doubt the worst of the worst.

I don’t think they turn him away if he decided to come to Duke . Right now Duke has two Centers, and a PF with three hybrid stretch 4’s imo. The thing that has me wondering is we haven’t heard one thing out of Meyers. I wonder if he comes in with a purpose and Duke has more options at the 3/4 . Duke should be able to play really fast and keep the defense up . It’s going to be an interesting thing to watch headed into November.

fwiw everything i've read on Meyer is he is more than likely going to be a "projected red shirt". I agree with duke0527 we have yet to witness a Coach Scheyer Led Duke team get blown out, this is a really good thing. Yes, Coach Scheyer has given up some unfathomable leads, but I don't believe I've watched a Duke game since Coach Scheyer took the Coaching gig where I thought Duke stood no chance to win the game.

I agree with Jimbo that kentucky fans have 0 respect for Duke. If you ever read the content on rupp's rafters the content is pretty comical. Those tin foil wearing fools really believe the ncaa has it out for their pathetic excuse of a men's basketball program.

rival fan bases stated Duke would fall once Coach K retired. Meanwhile Duke remains Successful churning out 30 Win Seasons, Dominating the ACC, and always in the hunt to make it to the Elite 8 or further of the NCAA Tournament.

kentucky, unc, and kansas continue to stay irrelevant.

We had a few blowout losses in the first two seasons. But nothing since then. Jon is building something that is sustainable.

really like what the Coaching Staff has been doing. With the exception of the sure fire lottery picks (Lively/Flagg/Knuepple/Maluach/Cameron), Coach Scheyer & Company are recruiting guys who want to play for Duke for a minimum of 2-3 seasons (Proctor, Foster, Ngongba, Cayden, Flip, Evans, Mitchell). This gives Duke the continuity many of us on here have been wanting.

As both Jimbo & bleed stated earlier, Coach Scheyer has a plan for his current and future rosters.

I will say NIL has alot to do with retaining players . The pitch to be able to play more and get paid is more appealing now then three years ago . It actually gives the young men something to think about. Get drafted late first early second round and ride the pine or get paid and be a starter and work on your game some more or simply get healthy .

Average height amongst Duke’s Frontcourt going into the 26-27 season 6’11’’

Deepest backcourt in the country going into the 2026-2027 season

Think Scheyer is Motivated?

I just saw that if JBB wasn’t an international prospect, he would be the #5 overall recruit in 2026, and #1 in 2027 if he didn’t reclass. I certainly didn’t realize he was this highly rated.
