3 VT WR's and 1 VT TE are in the portal. Now that's a hit.
Maybe they'll pick up the 3 PSU WR's.

I saw that too. Don't want to play the woe is them is worse than our woe game, but wonder what's going on there.
They had a pretty bad season. Here's a story:
https://www.roanoke.com/hokies/virg...cle_307497f2-1f53-11e9-98f6-97da6b84e066.html
Virginia Tech coach Justin Fuente tried to calm the Hokies’ fan base down Wednesday afternoon.

QB Josh Jackson is available:
http://www.espn.com/college-football/player/stats/_/id/4037603/josh-jackson

So is WR Eric Kumah:
Kumah was the Hokies’ second-leading pass catcher this past season, catching 42 passes for 549 yards and seven touchdowns.

Tre Creamer the DB from Iowa. I believe RU was a close second. I did not follow his career. Was he a bust? Wonder if it is possible he could be the plug and play CB we may be looking for.

Was Blunt even on the roster this year?

I noticed that as well. I remember some teeth-gnashing when he didn’t come here. For us I honestly forgot Rashad Blunt was on the team.

No deadlines. They can enter and exit at any time. All the portal does is to notify and allow coaches from other schools to contact you.
I thought I read if a player enters the transfer portal, but decides to return to his original school, his original school doesn't have to take him back.

Interesting list:
https://247sports.com/Season/2019-Football/TransferPortal/

Quick look:
Rutgers with 6 in portal
Nebraska with 6 in portal
Illinois with 8 in portal -
Virginia Tech leading with 10 in portal

Penn State leading with 11 in portal.

Weird they would list the 6 Nebraska guys like that. 3 of them left before the season, 1 of them after game 4. The other 2 were following the season.

3 of them set out for Oregon St this year. The fourth one wanted to go there but NU blocked it and also ended up turning Oregon St in for tampering with players before they said they were transferring and went there the same day they announced transfer. Nebraska wasn’t the only school to turn them in for tampering. A couple of former NU coaches ended up back at OSU. Including Riley for a bit.

They still count as transfers. Doesn’t matter when. You have a new coach so this is expected I would think.

To be blunt, no (sorry, couldn't resist). I believe he was a medical retirement from football. Now may be healthy enough to look to resume career, probably at a lower level school. Part of Flood's legacy of recruiting WR "talent".

I realize they are still transfers but the fact that they didn’t even go to class in Lincoln in 2018 fall semester makes it weird to me.

I agree but they can’t go back and count them for the previous school year so there they sit until September or whatever the cutoff is. This whole thing is crazy to me but as someone said if coaches can leave whenever they want why can’t the players?

Missouri just got placed on probation. No bowl game next year. Does Kelly Bryant go back in the portal?

Do we know the names in the portal? I'd like to see the State Penn players in the portal.

Sorry for the simple question, but what does pending appeal mean? Three players wanting to come to RU and they all say pending appeal. Do they appeal to the original conference? Only one I believe is in the B1G from Michigan. So not sure how that works. Thanks.

Juwan Johnson, who would have been in the WR rotation next season, and a bunch of guys who have been passed on the depth chart, or will be, by younger, more talented players.

That's correct. Once a player enters the transfer portal, his scholarship at his current university is no longer guaranteed.

The pending appeal is until the NCAA grants the waivers. Things have apparently changed from the past and most transfers are expected to get a waiver for a variety of reasons.

Maryland will be all over this. Locksley recruited him to Bama and said to be very close with him.

But does this kid suck, or it's hard to tell when you are a 5 star recruit playing at Clemson?
From everything I've read his coaches feel he's going to be a stud.

He was in a battle for starting job but was the favorite.
