Transfer Portal question

How long before teams can essentially advertise a “need” position/opportunity on the portal?

To me it seems like the natural next step. Players won’t have to guess if there is a real opportunity.

Limit it to 2 per team so that it doesn’t get overwhelming.

Then you pretty much give other schools info to hurt your recruiting.
You advertise you need LBs.
Teams then will make sure WV doesn't get LBs if they can.

They can try, but that’s how recruiting always is.

You don't advertise a need.

The transfer portal how it is works but it is suppose to be for coaches.
Some schools are getting all their players leaked to the media.
Recent example would be Penn St.

I think if a player wants it to be known that is on him.
But media and programs using the transfer portal to create a narrative of discontent in a locker room shouldn't happen.

They did it with Texas and the QBs.
